| Wayne DuPage HT: Returning Favorites & Exciting Additions |
Opening Date for the Wayne DuPage Horse Trials was June 30 and the organizing committee is hard at work preparing for an exciting weekend AUGUST 14-16 for competitors and spectators alike. Many crowd favorites will be in place again this year while the horse trials welcomes several new additions to the show. The show is pleased to welcome back English Riding Supply as a key sponsor. English Riding Supply has been partnering with Wayne DuPage Horse Trials for many years and supplies beautiful coolers for lucky winners of each division. Competitors will have a chance to jump over special fences placed in the show jumping arena also provided by English Riding Supply. | XC Schooling at Heritage Park |
| Only two more chances to school the cross-country courses at Heritage Park before the Heritage Park Horse Trials.
MACTA will hold cross-country schooling the weekend of July 18-19, 2009 and again on August 22nd. MACTA will offer a schooling d/ct/ht on August 23rd.

| New USEA Event Offered in Oklahoma |
| Feather Creek Farm in Norman, Oklahoma will offer their inaugural USEA recognized horse trials August 29-30th, 2009. Entries opened on July 14th and will close on August 11th. The event will offer Starter through Preliminary levels of competition.
Mike Huber's Tipasa ran at this location for several years. The event was discontinued when the property was sold more than 10 years ago. The property was recently purchased by Dynah Korhummel, former Advanced Level competitor, and is being restored to its former grandeur with the help of John Staples, Tom Engel and the Huber family.

September 5-6 Eric Dierks is returning to Area IV for clinics at Stonehedge Farm. Eric is an accomplished four-star rider. He has trained numerous horses to the Advanced Level and his specialty is identifying problems in horses and correcting them. He is a USEA Level 3 Instructor Certification Program graduate and has participated in the USET Rider Development Program. Eric is an expert clinician renowned for his comprehensive training methods. | Brad Hall will be doing a clinic August 7-9th at Wisconsin Equestrian Center, near Green Bay, WI. Brad is a Level II USEA certified Instructor and has evented through Intermediate. | Wayne DuPage Offers Young Event Horse/Future Event Horse |
| Wayne DuPage Horse Trials will offer the USEA Young Event Horse and Future Event Horse competitions in addition to Beginner Novice through Intermediate level horse trials.
The event will be held in Wayne, Illinois August 14th-16th.
Entries close July 28th.

| Gina Miles Clinic: September 19-20 |
Olympic silver medalist Gina Miles will be the featured clinician at the Racine County Pony Club Equestrian Center Sept. 19 & 20, 2009. The clinic is open to riders and auditors of all ages and abilities.
Miles won the silver medal in eventing at the 2008 Olympics in Beijing aboard her Irish Sport Horse McKinlaigh. The pair was later named the Chronicle of the Horse's "Horse and Horseman of the Year." For the Racine County Pony Club clinic, Miles will work with riders on dressage and jumping skills.
A popular clinician and teacher throughout the United States, Miles is Level 3 instructor with the United States Eventing Association and is a leading expert on safety in eventing.

| Information for inclusion in the Area IV Newsletter must be submitted to submitnews@usea4.org. The articles must be in news-ready format and attached to the email message in either pdf (preferred) or Word. Items submitted as text within the email message will not be accepted.
Submission Deadlines are the 15th and the 1st of every month.
Articles will run once unless re-submitted. Articles will be available on the Area IV website and will be included on the Archives page for additional viewing.
Newsletters will be published 1-2x per month dependent upon the volume of news received.
