| MCPC Offers Combined Test with USEA Recognized Horse Trial |
 Mill Creek Pony Club has announced that they will host a Combined Test in conjunction with their May 16/17 USEA Recognized Horse Trials at Longview Horse Park in Grandview, MO.
The Combined Test will include dressage and show jumping competition May 16/17 as well as cross-country schooling on May 17th. The cost is $100.

Print out an entry form and be part of the action! Competitors party after the show for both the Jumper Derby AND Dressage riders. A Hunt Team Classic will be offered for both members and non-members of the Moingona Hunt! The Class consists of Teams of 3 over a course of 2'-3' fences with one fence side by side. Start practicing now! Event Derby includes the dressage phase and is awarded through 6th place and PRIZE MONEY! Jumper Derby classes will not include the dressage phase and will be judged with ribbon placings. Join the excitement and support your fellow horseman in the Great New Equine Sport"!

May 9th: Dressage Schooling Show with Cheryl Holekamp judging! Bring your greenies, your babies, your students and your shaggy beasts to shake off the rust and practice your dressage with an "r" judge! This is our second annual dressage show and last year was a blast and a success despite Mother Nature's attempt to thwart us. Save $5 off of your XC Schooling on the same day by signing up for both!
May 9th (again!): Open XC Schooling, BN - Prelim with water open and course mowed and weed whacked!! $30 per horse/rider combination, or $50 for 2 horses/same rider. If you have signed up for the Dressage Show on the same day, you can save $5 off of your schooling entry! THIS IS THE LAST OPEN SCHOOLING DAY BEFORE THE USEA HORSE TRIALS!
May 10: Mother's Day Hunter Pace and Brunch
Come join your horsey friends for a beautiful ride over a marked course in Queeny Park! First pairs out on course at 8:30 am, and lunch will be served at 11:30 am! Prizes given to the fastest time, closest to optimum time and best dressed pair!
THE CROSS COUNTRY COURSE WILL OFFICIALLY CLOSE FOR USE AFTER THE HUNTER PACE! This is under USEF/USEA rules for preparation for our June Horse Trials! Please respect the course and the footing (and the rules....elimination is the consequence for schooling on it after closure!) by staying off the course until after the June Horse Trials!

 The Mid-America Combined Training Association will host several cross-country schooling days at Heritage Park in Olathe, KS. The organization will also host two schooling Dressage/Combined Test/Horse Trial competitions in 2009 in addition to the 2009 USEA Recognized Heritage Park Horse Trial and Training Level 3-Day event.

| Information for inclusion in the Area IV Newsletter must be submitted to submitnews@usea4.org. The articles must be in news-ready format and attached to the email message in either pdf (preferred) or Word. Items submitted as text within the email message will not be accepted.
Submission Deadlines are the 15th and the 1st of every month.
Articles will run once unless re-submitted. Articles will be available on the Area IV website and will be included on the Archives page for additional viewing.
Newsletters will be published 1-2x per month dependent upon the volume of news received.
