Area IV Adult Riders
Adult Riders -
Once you join the USEA and the Adult Riders program, please send me adultriders@usea4.org an email with your telephone number!
The USEA only sends out an updated AR list twice a month (and it hasn't been too regular yet - getting the new program started) so if you send me an email or the form, I'll know to watch for your membership. If there are any problems or discrepancies, I will let you and the USEA know.
Also, be sure to check our Area IV Adult Rider website - I will try to keep the Membership Roster up to date.
Congratulations to the Area IV Adult Rider Year-End Award Recipients! The top six (actually 7, since we have a tie for 3rd) Area IV Adult Riders for 2008 are: 1. Jamie Price 68 pts 2. Deanna Hertrich 28 pts 3. Jane Severns 19 pts 3. Catherine Amrich 19 pts 4. Chris Heydon 18 pts 5. Sarah Jaycocks 17 pts 6. Camie Stockhausen 15.5 pts

Callie Judy Named to Developing Riders List
Lexington, KY - The United States Equestrian Federation (USEF) has named the 2009 Developing Rider List for Eventing. Area IV Young Rider Callie Judy is included with her horse Call On Me.
The US Chef d'Equipe and Technical Advisor for Eventing, Captain Mark Phillips, will coach the Developing Riders in 2009. These 16 athletes will be invited to participate in training sessions. The training sessions will be used to identify the most promising up-and-coming riders in the US. Following the training sessions, this limited group will continue to receive assistance from Capt. Phillips.
The riders on the Developing Rider List were selected differently in 2009. This year 'Talent Spotters' (Derek di Grazia, Phillip Dutton, Becky Holder, Mike Huber, Kerry Milliken, Karen O'Connor, Mark Phillips, Kim Severson, and Amy Tryon) reviewed 47 applications and nominations for the Developing Rider program.
Athletes were placed on the list in one of two ways: 1. Athletes could submit an application or 2. Athletes were nominated through the talent spotter program created this fall by the Eventing High Performance Committee.
Dates and locations of the training sessions are still being finalized.

American Eventing Championships Qualifying Criteria
The American Eventing Championships are still about eight months away, giving you plenty of time to get qualified and make plans to attend this fabulous eventing festival! The AEC will be held for the third year in a row at the picturesque Lamplight Equestrian Center in Wayne, Illinois on September 10-13. The complete qualifications for the 2009 American Eventing Championships have been posted on the AEC page, along with a "cheat sheet" to break down the qualification criteria into an easy-to-read format.
The qualifying period runs from July 29,2008 - August 25, 2009.
We're pleased to announce that we've added Championships points for placing at the AEC this year! We feel our members and their horses deserve an extra reward for placing well at the national championships. Up until now "bonus" points were not awarded for any championship - this will be the first time and it is only applicable to the AEC. Be sure to check out the new points system!
