| Maui Jim HT Attracts the Cream of the Crop |
In case there was any question that the Maui Jim Horse Trials, July 10-13, has become a United States Eventing Association "destination event," a look at the early list of registered competitors would erase any doubt.
This competition must be doing something right to attract not only the reigning Olympic Gold Medalist in eventing, but also a rider who has been the World Champion eventer an unprecedented two times. Leslie Law, an English citizen who lives in Virginia with his Canadian wife Lesley, (no, this is not a misprint!), in 2004 won the individual gold for Great Britain in Athens on Shear L'Eau, a horse who has since been retired. He will be riding Evening Shade at Maui Jim, a relatively inexperienced horse at the advanced level. Law gave an extremely well received clinic last March in the area, and his many local fans will be there to cheer him on. When asked recently about his Olympic medals, Law said he was embarrassed to admit that they are still in a bag in one of the closets in their house awaiting a time when they can be mounted for display.

| Catalpa Corner Charity Horse Trial |
As Eastern Iowa moves towards recovery from its recent flood, we are looking forward to our coming event. All interstates and major thoroughfares are open or will be opening shortly to include I-80 and I-380. With Mid-West determination we are optimistic that drier days are ahead and are excited and thrilled to offer GAG through P/T divisions at our August 2-3rd, 2008 USEA Recognized event held near Iowa City, IA.
We would advise riders to book motels/hotels early due to recovery efforts. Importantly, this spring has been tragic for many due to extreme weather conditions, and CCCHT understands the need for safety when traveling and participating at events. If CCCHT organizers determine the upcoming show date would need to be cancelled due to extreme weather conditions, we will be offering a full refund. Please find frequent updates on our website, www.catalpacorner.org.
Entries opened June 17th and will close July 15th.
Thank you for your support!

| English Riding Supply Offers Optimum Time Safety Incentive at Maui Jim HT |
| Sensitive to the issue of safety that is being emphasized in the eventing world today, English Riding Supply' 4-Star Collection, (ERS), a longtime sponsor of the Maui Jim Horse Trials, has come on board with a generous incentive aimed at highlighting the importance of riding cross country in a safe and sane manner.
With the "4 - Star Collection Closest to Optimum Time" award, the rider who completes cross country without jumping penalties and comes in closest to the optimum time in the CIC One Star Division of competition will be completely outfitted from top to bottom along with a saddle, from the ERS 4 - Star Collection, the name sponsor of that division. The 4-Star Collection is a compilation of products created in response to the specialized needs of eventers. These products are pulled from many of the world's best brands such as Pessoa, Mountain Horse and Ovation to name a few. For further information, go to www.ers4star.com
The Maui Jim Horse Trials will take place July 10-13 at Lamplight Equestrian Center in Wayne, Illinois. This facility is also the setting for the USEA Wellpride American Eventing Championships in September.
