Eventing G10 Summit Open to All Members
USEA2008 The USEA's annual meeting and convention in Colorado is just around the corner (December 6-9, 2007).  I've heard several people are planning to attend, but I also know that many of you cannot.  Some information was sent out from USEA the other day about a new meeting they are planning to hold on Saturday afternoon.  I wanted to share some of the information with all of the Area IV members.  If you cannot attend the meeting in Colorado, I hope that you might be able to find time to log in for the live broadcast of the meeting described below.  It could prove to be quite interesting.

The USEA has taken the format of the Open Forum, which has formerly been held on Thursday afternoon for two hours, and expanded it into a G10 Eventing Summit (a play on the Group of 8 Summits held by the leading industrial nations but better because we have a Group of 10) that will take place on Saturday, ecember 8.  We are inviting you and ALL USEA MEMBERS to get involved.

The purpose of the summit is to have the key issues facing the sport of eventing and all of its constituencies brought to the fore and opened up for discussion. Too
often we spend many hours talking about issues that face this group or that group but we spend little time having the groups share their concerns, hopes and desireswith each other. On December 8 we hope to change all that.

We will be broadcasting the summit live on the website so any of our members canlisten in and we will have a phone and a laptop with email set up so that those at
home can post questions and comments also.

If you have any questions, please contact me (areachair@usea4.org)
Thanks,
Beth Stoker

Adult Rider News

Area IV Adult RidersThe USEA Adult Rider Program was implemented in Area IV in 2005 and has grown each year. The 2006 season offered  several "Adult Rider Only" clinics as well as Adult Rider Low Score and Year End Awards.  This year Area IV Adult Riders received reduced rates at clinics with top riders Buck Davidson, Jim Graham and Ian Stark. The Adult Rider Low Score Awards have been continued and lines of communication have been opened with the addition of the Area IV Adult Rider E-mail Group. The Adult Rider Membership Roster was also distributed to members to facilitate comraderie and communication.  Several Adult Rider "cocktail parties" were held at events throughout the season as well. Hill n' Hound offered $777.77 to the Area IV Adult Rider Member who finished their spring horse trials with the lowest score.

Area IV Adult Riders are encouraged to contact the Area IV Adult Rider Committee to share ideas for the further development of this program. Please let them know how this program can better serve you!

for silent auctions at Area IV events again this year, AEC breakfasts, fund
raising letters to be mailed to your contacts, and various sponsorships. Any
suggestions or ideas you have for other fund raising ideas are welcome.
