A big thank you to everyone for buying plants at the Plant Sale in support of the Guatemala Trip. It was a great success! The estimation of the plant sales is proceeds of $1,250! Everyone was great about either picking them up Saturday or making arrangements, so that was much appreciated! Human Rights
and
Constitutional Amendments
understanding the upcoming Marriage Equality Amendment through discussion, compassion, and education, an evening of exploration.
Tuesday, May 15, 5:30 - 8 pm
Stillwater Public Library
Some questions to be explored:
What does the Preamble of the Constitution simply say when it talks about the "inalienable rights" (Life Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness) given to us all?
What happens when those rights are taken away, and a person is deprived of the right to be who they are, at birth, as God made them?
Does the amendment solve a problem in the narrowest way?
What are the effects of the amendment?
How do we put a human face on all of this?
