Human Rights

and

Constitutional Amendments

understanding the upcoming Marriage Equality Amendment through discussion, compassion, and education, an evening of exploration.

Tuesday, May 15, 5:30 - 8 pm

Stillwater Public Library

Some questions to be explored:

What does the Preamble of the Constitution simply say when it talks about the "inalienable rights" (Life Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness) given to us all?

What happens when those rights are taken away, and a person is deprived of the right to be who they are, at birth, as God made them?

Does the amendment solve a problem in the narrowest way?

What are the effects of the amendment?

How do we put a human face on all of this?

He has a B.S. in HIstory and a M.Ed from the University of Minnesota. He currently teaches community education classes in western philosophy, ethics and world religions.
