A Family of Caring

Sheri G., R.N., Facility Administrator
Sheri G., R.N., Facility Administrator

Meet Sheri G., RN, Facility Administrator at DaVita Moultrie Dialysis in Georgia. Moultrie is a 10-station facility and serves 22 patients. Sheri has been in dialysis for over 20 years and cared for patients in the acute setting, on peritoneal dialysis and incenter hemodialysis before accepting her current position. Sheri is respected and admired by her team for creating a work environment they love. The newest member of Sheri's team has been with her for two years; everyone else is caring for patients at Moultrie Dialysis for 13 years and counting.

Sheri has been praised by her Clinical Services Specialist for her ability of creating an atmosphere at the clinic her teammates love. Her secret? Sheri states, "If you want your team to be positive and productive you have to lead them in that direction. I find the time to get to know my teammates and their families. We are like a family here. We help each other at work and at home if needed. Our saying here is 'I've got your back' and time and time again I have seen this response. We have been through happy times and sad times and all members of this team always step up to be there for each other."

Patient Interview with Cora H.
Cora H, Dialysis Patient
Cora H., dialysis patient

Each quarter we feature one of our dialysis patients in the Nephrology Note.  Meet Cora H., a dialysis patient since 2010, who has a knack for shopping and decorating!

Cora was diagnosed with Polycystic Kidney Disease back in 2001.  She went to a routine doctor's appointment in October of 2010 and was instructed to go to the hospital where she was admitted.  At that time she was told that she would need to go on dialysis.

1. What is your favorite motto or motivational quote?

Phil: 4:13 - I can do ALL things, thru Christ, who strengthens me.

2. What are some things that help make your experience positive while dialyzing?

The medical staff's positive spirit and the other patient's jokes and stories!

3.What do you like most about the teammates who perform your dialysis treatments?

The medical staff is just so awesome, caring, compassionate and patient with all of the patients.  They have such positive attitudes!  I was so upset when I first started dialyzing at DaVita.  The staff took me under their wings and made me a part of their family.
