President's Perspective - Manufacturer's Roundtable
Tuesday, June 12, a group of leaders from LaGrange County manufacturers came together for the first ever LCEDC Manufacturer's Roundtable. The purpose of the forum was to network, make new connections, share ideas, and learn more about subjects and issues critical to manufacturing today. Nineteen individuals representing 14 companies from across LaGrange County's industry sectors attended the Roundtable leaving positive feedback. Indiana Secretary of Commerce and Chief Executive Officer of the Indiana Economic Development Corporation, Dan Hasler spoke at the meeting sharing his insight on the importance of building the manufacturing sector and of the many steps the state has taken to set the stage for growth in Indiana including the passage of Right-to-Work legislation. The LCEDC plans to host future roundtables to expand our ongoing Business Retention and Expansion efforts, to help local manufacturers connect and explore new avenues for collaboration among local businesses. The LCEDC understands and values the critical role that manufacturing plays in our local economy, and we want to support our industry however we can. -Keith Gillenwater, President & CEO
