On October 6th Moorpark's Morning Rotary Club will kick off their 3rd Annual Beer Festival!  Featured will be beer tasting from over 20 LOCAL microbreweries and food vendors, as well as some rockin' entertainment!

Also on October 6th, the 18th Street Arts Center brings its renowned BAM Fest (Beer, Art and Music Festival) to the Westside of L.A.  Held in the heart of Santa Monica, BAM Fest celebrates the best of the locally produced art and music in conjunction with a variety of delicious craft beers.  With 35+ breweries, 4 bands, 3 art galleries, an artist market. and gourmet food trucks, BAM Fest is prepared to draw record-breaking crowds in this third year as one of hte Westside's most anticipated festivals!

What a busy day!  Mark October 6th on your calendar for Surf Brewery's second annual Surf-toberfest, a fundraiser for Surfrider! Dan Grimm and Friends will be rockin' in our parking lot from 1-5pm, along with several local booths.  In addition, Surf Brewery will be tapping a single batch of a Lemon Wahine Wheat made with local  Ventura  County lemons.  Still another treat, Surf Brewery will also be tapping a new batch of Shaka Extra Pale Ale using Nelson Sauvin single hop.   As is Surf Brewery's style, there will be raffles and prizes as well! 

Surf Brewery's monthly Home Brew Class this month will be an 'Advanced Brewing Techniques' on October 13th, at noon. In this class you will learn a variety of advanced brewing techniques, including draft systems, yeast starters, sour making beer, water chemistry, etc. Please send an email to the instructor at garrett@

Friends of Channel Coast State Parks is proud to help bring a sustainable, fun, and educational event to San Buenaventura State Beach! The Ventura Oyster Festival will celebrate its inaugural event on Saturday, October 13, at San Buenaventura State Beach, You can expect local food, music, wine and only Craft beer.









With guidance from Ventura Lemoncello expert, we peeled some Limoneria lemons to add during the boil like a tea bag of our Lemon Wahine Wheat, to be tapped October 6, Surf-toberfest!

October music first brings us gypsy jazz band, Swing Cheese on the 13th.  Cattawalilers, an eclectic blue grass and classic rock band, plays on October 20th and Blues and R&B band Smokey & Friends finishes off the month on the 27th.
