   Now Four Months Old!

         Brewery News

Surf Brewery hosted a beer tasting at Wades Wines in Thousand Oaks. While Wades Wines is primarily a wine shop with a tasting room and a retail store, craft beers surely make their presence known here as well. Wades Wines features more than thirty quality craft beers on tap that can be had in 5 oz tasting pours or by the pint.

Aloha!  Beer was flowing when Surf Brewery served at the Aloha Beach festival, held at the cove at Surfer's Point. This festival featured freestyle frisbee and K9 frisbee competitions, surfing and outrigger canoe competitions and all day live music . Also included were local arts and crafts, food vendors and a beer garden (Surf Brewery was the sole beer provider!).

The California Street Longboard Classic Surf Contest celebrated a quarter century of surf at Surfer's Point in Ventura, making it by all objective standards, the longest running surfing contest held in Ventura County, and was held right here among the waves off Ventura's newly remodeled promenade. Although Surf Brewery did not host a beer tent at this event, our banners were hung in support.

Once again the California Beer festival has returned to Ventura. This two day event offered over 100 beers on tap to sample from 70 different breweries. Surf Brewery loved being a part of this craft beer haven!

Did you know?  Surf Brewery is now offering a food truck right here in our own parking lot. Gourmet chef, Francisco Blanco will be at our place Friday nights between 5-9 PM. The menu includes something for everyone--sandwiches, tacos, burritos, salads and more, all for under $10 a plate.  In ADDITION, a

local food trailer, Blazen' Blue's BBQ will be parking in our lot, arriving at 3pm on Saturdays.

Surf Brewery has added a new beer available on tap--Oil Piers Porter. This brew is a nice dark malty beer with a hint of chocolate. It is named after an old surf spot just South of Mussel Shoals by what used to be some oil piers off the beach. The piers were demolished in 1998 and away went the surf... We are wanting the name to live on through a nice dark, easy drinking brew.

Surf Brewery was a part of the Moorpark Beer Tasting Festival, located in Historic Downtown Moorpark. At this event, regional brewers and restaurateurs will be sampling their signature beers and cuisine. Here Surf was in the company of big time brewers like Stone Brewery of San Diego.

Pier into the future! Surf Brewery seved beer at Ventura's 18th annual premier wine and food event--Pier Under the Stars-- to benefit the treasured landmark, the Ventura Pier. Since its original construction in 1872, the Ventura Pier has stood as a symbol of the region's rich history and natural resources. This beachfront culinary fair, adjacent to the pier, offered the county's best food and spirits provided by over 50 area businesses.  Restaurants, cafes, wineries and breweries showcased their signature dishes and beverages--all to benefit the city's historic pier.
