Foundation Begins Annual Campaign

The Nash Community College Foundation began its campaign this week to raise funds for students in need to pursue their educational dreams.
"Each year, lives are changed as a result of the generosity of this community. As tuition continues to increase, so does the need Nash Community College students have for help with their tuition, books and fees," 2011 Campaign Chair Lank Dunton, Southern Bank Assistant Vice President and Commercial Relationship Banker said.
For forty-four years, students have come to Nash Community College to pursue a degree or develop a skill-set to better themselves and improve the quality of life for their families. During the past year, more than 13,000 full-time and part-time students enrolled in degree, diploma, certificate and continuing education programs at Nash Community College. Many of these students graduate and contribute to the local workforce and economy and are where they are today because of a Nash Community College Foundation Scholarship.

Money raised during the 2011 NCC Foundation Scholarship Campaign provides critical resources for need-based and merit-based scholarships to help students on the path to a college education and a successful career. "Many times, people assume those who want to return to school, have the financial resources to do so and that's not always the case," Dunton said.

The College is experiencing record enrollment resulting in more students seeking financial assistance from the NCC Foundation Scholarship Program.

The NCC Foundation is seeking financial contributions during the 2011 annual scholarship campaign. Dunton and the Nash Community College Foundation Board of Directors invite the community to join in their efforts to make a difference for the students who will ultimately impact our community's future.
