PTA Council News

The PTA Council will be holding a Board of Education Candidates Forum on Monday, October 24th at the Board of Education Bldg., 501 Kings Highway.  Each candidate will briefly introduce themselves and a meet and greet session will immediately follow.  For more information please see the flyer on our web site.

Alice McGrath Friend of Education Award

Each year the PTA Council honors a member of the Fairfield community as a Friend of Education. This is a person who is committed to the cause of excellence in our public schools and who has demonstrated clear leadership through their active involvement, not just in the educational process, but
as on the larger community stage as well.

Please see the flyer for the Alice McGrath Friend of Education Award on our web site:  jenningsschoolpta.org/home.

Board of Education Candidate Night

November 2, 7:00 - 9:00 PM

In an effort to keep our communities informed on upcoming education issues, the Jennings, Osborn Hill and Riverfield PTAs are hosting an evening for our parent communities to meet and talk to this year's BoE candidates in advance of the upcoming election.

This event will take place on Wed, Nov 2nd at Osborn Hill from 7-9 PM.

We are planning to use a 'learn a much as you can" vs. "debate" format.   Each candidate will have a table/small area of their own. We will divide the audience into small groups (based on # of candidates). Each group will have 5-8 minutes to learn as much as they can about each candidate. At scheduled times, we will rotate groups to the next candidate.

The candidates would like to know what questions or concerns the communities have so please email Monica Fahrer if there is something you would like to hear about.  We will not be sending names, only the questions and/or concerns!

We hope you can make it!

PTA Membership - "Why should I join?"

We have not reached our goal of having all of our families join the PTA so please consider being part of the team and join.  The number one reason you should join the Jennings PTA is to benefit your child. By doing so, you also help the school and show support for all that the PTA does for the students, school, and staff. The PTA is a team effort!

Dues are $15 per family.  The PTA membership form is available on our website, or in the office.  The PTA needs you to help us make our goal of 100% parent participation!  If you have any questions, please contact

Monica Fahrer or Connie Ceconi.

 Weekly Green Tip
Plant trees:

By the time autumn rolls around, summer heat waves are long past, rainfall is usually more plentiful, and new trees, bushes and flowers have a greater chance of surviving than they would if they were planted during a hotter season. Choose species native to your area as well as those that are drought and pest resistant and can grow in the kind of soil and amount of sunlight available on your property.
Extra Directory Copies Available!
