Greetings!

Did you know there is a new IL law dealing with crosswalks? Drivers must STOP (excuse the previous typo), not yield, for pedestrians in crosswalks. Aimed at increasing safety and decreasing pedestrian and car accidents, this law (Read it: Public Act 096-1165) applies to pedestrians in all crosswalks, including those that are unmarked and/or without a stop sign or traffic signal. This law went into effect this July, and according to the Chicago Tribune , police are now actively ticketing. The penalty for failing to stop is a traffic citation of $50 to $500. Fines vary by county. Yet another reason to make sure we're all paying attention behind the wheel.

Sincerely,

Nick Richardson

TribLocal: Restaurant Reviews
I contribute articles to the Palatine and Schaumburg pages of the Chicago Tribune's TribLocal on an array of topics. The restaurant business makes for some of my favorites shows (Hell's Kitchen, Kitchen Nightmares & Top Chef), but it's a business that is extremely difficult with insane hours and the arduous task of pleasing the masses. And as food costs soars and diners cut back frequency, restaurants face even more challenges to stay in the black. Read my take on Bistro Wasabi, Savory Restaurant & Pancake Café, Sushi Ahi, Giannis Café & Bob Chinn's, click HERE.
Interviewed by the Chicago Tribune
I was interviewed for an article on "Better training of board members bolsters association" by Pamela Dittmer McKuen that ran in last Friday's Chicago Tribune. Click HERE to read my comments under the call-out to register with the Tribune and at the article's closing.
