Batman, Old Girlfriends & the Devil ! |
 Greetings! The devil is a bit like a woman in the movies who has been rejected by her boyfriend. She keeps his picture and whenever she looks at it, she goes psycho. She starts to attack the photograph, and to cuss at it and scratch it and rip holes in it. If she can't attack her boyfriend, she can certainly attack his picture.
The devil does the same thing. He can't get to God because God is too powerful for him, so he goes after God's image - you and me. The Bible tells us how to stand victorious through Jesus Christ. Ephesians 6:13 tells us to put on the whole armor of God so we can stand against the devil.
When we put on the armor of God, the devil doesn't know who is inside the armor. It is like being in the Batman suit. Various actors played Batman in the movies. Michael Keaton was one of the Batmans. When he put on the suit he looked huge, muscular and indestructible. The suit even came with a built in "six pack". So even though Michael Keaton is a small man, inside the Batman suit, he looked amazing.
The wiles of the devil are his lies. The armor of God is knowing the truth, that Jesus has made me more than a conqueror! The breastplate is for protecting my heart against the accusations of the devil that I am not worthy of the blessing and protection of God. To protect our mind we have the helmet of salvation. My victory is not based on what I have done but it is based on what Jesus has done (Romans 5:17). I simply learn how to stand in the armor of God.
Let us awake to righteousness (1 Corinthians 15:34, Hebrews 10:15-17, Philippians 3:9) and stand in the armor of God. Our faith works when we know how much God loves us and what He gave us through His son, Jesus Christ (Galatians 5:6).
Like Michael Keaton, wearing the Batman suit, when we are in the armor of God, the devil doesn't know our weaknesses and he doesn't see the fears we may have. In that armor, we look just like Jesus! The devil can't devour anyone who knows how to wear the armor of God (1 Peter 5:8, Colossians 2:15).
I do not have to defeat the devil. Jesus already did that. All I need to do is stand and remain dressed in the armor of God. With the armor of God I am always left standing! Having done all (Put on the whole armor) stand therefore in the victory! We love you!
