The AAA Wing Man!

I want to wish all the dads a happy Father's Day ! All Dads need Acceptance, Affirmation and Accountability. It's what I call the AAA Man!   It's the kind of roadside assistance no man should be without.

I learned about being a AAA man while in the Air Force. I dreamed of becoming a fighter pilot. Although I never became a fighter pilot, as a student pilot, it was made clear to me that you always take care of your wingman (the plane flying adjacent to yours). Without a wingman you are more likely to be shot down. Manhood requires a wingman.

The AAA Man understands about being a wingman. Scripture teaches that AAA men are men of substance and prayer, has a relationship with God, avoids doing wrong things and takes responsibility for others. God has empowered the AAA man to impact his surroundings and the people to whom he relates.

One AAA man in the Bible was David. God called him a man after His own heart. Here is a quick overview of David's AAA checkered life:
He was a warrior who shed much blood. David committed adultery with a woman named Bathsheba. When he discovered that he got Bathsheba pregnant he ordered her husband put into the front battle, where he was killed. David had multiple wives. David was a negligent father, and his family was plagued with strife and tragedy. Contrary to God's command, David pridefully numbered his troops, causing 70,000 of his people to die in a plague. This man was called "a man after God's own heart"!

David discovered the grace of God! He sought to be a righteous AAA man but blew it. God doesn't expect perfection but He does look for a man whose heart is to please Him. Because we fall short in our manhood, the AAA man needs other men in his life to help him stay on track. The AAA man builds relationships with other godly men and understands the grace of God. It is God's grace that enables us and strengthens us to become AAA wingmen.

The cry of the AAA man's heart is, "I may be a great sinner but Christ is a Great Savior!" Because of what Jesus did I can be cleansed from sin and approach the throne of grace with confidence that I will receive mercy and help in my time of need (Heb. 4:16). Holy Spirit is our greatest Wing Man!  May all the Dads (Wing Men) experience the power of amazing grace as you impact others with the love of God.
