Welcome to the President's Corner! This May I attended the 2010 Tribal Self-Governance Conference in
Scottsdale, AZ. Self-Governance is a tribally-driven, congressional
legislative option, through which American Indian tribes are authorized
to negotiate annual appropriated funding and assume management of
programs previously managed by the federal government. As of 2010 there
are 260 self-governance tribes within the Department of the Interior
-Indian Affairs (BIA) and 330 tribes within the Department of Health

Port Gamble S'Klallam Tribe Continues to benefit from the use of RiteTrack 4!

 Earlier
this spring the Port Gamble S'Klallam Tribe went live on RiteTrack 4.
They are the second implementation to go live on RiteTrack 4, and the
first to be hosted in our data center. The Port Gamble S'Klallam
Reservation is located on the northern tip of the beautiful Kitsap
Peninsula in Washington State. They are still located on the same land
inhabited by their ancestors for centuries. As of today there are over
1,150 members enrolled in the tribe with over half residing on the

Comprehensive Education Management for Tribes: Mohegan Tribe Case Study

 Mohegan Tribe has already developed a Tribal Information
Management System (TIMS) on RiteTrack. This system holds all of their membership
information and their own process for Enrollment. Also included in the system are
all communication methods with their members. Mohegan is using using their TIMS
system as a jumping off point for complete Tribal management through their
RiteTrack system. Their next phase is Education management for their Tribe. read more... |
Flexing RiteTrack 4 Silverlight Capabilities

 Sometimes
seeing your data through a visual format instead of a text format
allows you and your case workers to better conceptualize the
information. Douglas County Nebraska Juvenile Aessment Center (JAC), a
current RiteTrack customer, has requested a visual interface be built
for them when it comes to their relationship data.
The
concept of relationships between people is a very old, but there are
difficulties in showing those relationships in a software program that
is both dynamic and easy to conceptualize. Having the information in
your system is only one step, making it easy to use by case workers is
the next. Some solutions, including ours, utilize family trees. Family
trees have been a good method for showing related individuals, but as
they grow, they become difficult to see all the information at a
glance. You end up scrolling back and forth to get the full picture.

Using RiteTrack 4 with Scanners, Signature Pads, and Card Readers
|
RiteTrack 4 has allowed for even more flexibility in how you interact with your software solution. Also,
hardware like bar code scanners, RFI tags, signature pads, web cameras,
or magnetic card readers, are becoming more and more affordable and
easier to use. Combining the two can bring your tribe or organization a
lot of return on investment. There are many examples of
using these hardware tools in conjunction with identification cards to
make your processes quicker and more efficient.

Handel Values and Commitment to Their Employees

An e-mail was sent out to all employees at Handel saying we were going
to have an employee skiing day. It was a very busy time at Handel, but
the allure of attempting skiing after 20 years or more was enticing. A
lot of the other employees are more active and athletic than I am, but
I couldn't resist the invitation. I clicked accept on the appointment.

Custom Dashboards Developed for your Needs: Arkansas DYS Case Study

When we first started working with Arkansas Division of Youth Services
in 2004 the primary goal was to replace an aging information system for
managing their juvenile population. RiteTrack was chosen because of its
flexible and easily modifiable platform and because of the Microsoft
.NET-based architecture. DYS went live with RiteTrack in October 2004.
Since then RiteTrack has evolved dramatically from its initial purpose.
Today Arkansas DYS is near the completion of a major upgrade which
involves a series of new solutions designed to serve additional needs
as well as replacing a few other legacy applications. At the same time
DYS will be upgraded to the latest version of the RiteTrack platform.  read more... |

Alyssa Barkley, Lead Researcher/Generator
 Alyssa was born and raised in sunny Thousand Oaks, California where she
spent most of her time in the water swimming, surfing, and wake boarding. She left the warm weather after graduating from high
school to earn degree in Business Administration with a minor in
Psychology from the University of Wyoming. She plans to graduate from
UW in December of 2010. Alyssa joined Handel in March 2010 as a market
researcher and administrative assistant. When she is not at class or
at work, Alyssa enjoys spending time with friends, indulging in retail
therapy, swimming, and going on adventures with her high school
sweetheart, Cameron, who she will marry in August 2010.
Dustin Brown, Customer Support Specialist
 Dustin was born in Boise, Idaho, but
went to high school in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. Utilizing a remarkable
scholarship awarded to him after graduating from high school, he is
attending the University of Wyoming and he will receive his bachelor's
degree in computer science in 2013. In the future he plans to launch a
video game company that will specialize in making Web video games,
which will be HTML5-compatible and will be available to anyone with a
browser on any platform. He joined Handel in order to broaden his
programming knowledge and expand his hands-on experience. He loves to
ski and hike with friends, and really likes doing anything outdoors in
his free time.

Paxton Joseph Nevshemal
 Joe and Cassandra Nevshemal are proud to announce the birth of their baby boy, Paxton Joseph Nevshemal. Paxton was born on March 23, 2010 at 4:16 am and weighed in at 8 lbs 5 oz and 21 ½ inches long. This is their first child and he has been a happy, healthy boy ever since his birth. He is especially fond of growing like a weed and morning coo'ing sessions.
Alizah Nichole Perrenoud
 Mike and Andrea Perrenoud are proud to announce the birth of
their baby girl, Alizah Nicole Perrenoud.
Alizah was born on April 14, 2010 at 8:12 am and weighed in at 7 lbs
8 oz and 20 inches long. This is their third child and she has been a joy ever since her
birth. She is especially fond of her thumb.
