Greetings!

As its the season of celebrating matters of the heart, let's take a fresh angle: Following the Wisdom of Your Heart.

Keep Walking Tall!
Peggy
Principal #3:
Following the Wisdom of Your Heart

Where should I be living? What's the best job for me? Should I marry this person or not? Like Dorothy seeking the Wizard of Oz to get her back home, many of us search outside ourselves for the answers to these all-important questions. Forgetting, just like Dorothy, that we, too, have everything we need within us right now to return "home".

If we take the phrase literally, "home is where the heart is", then we get a big clue about where we might find our answers, as our heart alone knows our destiny. What many don't realize is that our heart is our compass, the instrument best equipped to directs us all "home". But how many of us take advantage of this gold mine right beneath our nose? How many of us actually stop, ask our burning question, and really listen to the wisdom in our heart?

If you'd like some support in gleaning the wisdom from your heart, try our exercise.

This year, as we celebrate the season of St. Valentine's Day, honor not only your loved-one's, but also yourself-- by listening to your own most precious and wise heart.  Utilize this mighty treasure that's always with you, daily, as your deep heart is designed to guide you ... where to go, what to do, and how to do it.  Allow it to show you the way on your return "home". When you do, you will move through your life, ever so beautifully-- with increasing ease, support and fulfillment ... and of course ... Walking Tall!
Walking Tall Tip:

Other people may have more experience in many areas, and often, their advice is sage and helpful. However, nobody knows you as well as you. And nobody outside yourself knows what is best for you. Your heart alone knows your destiny. If you need true direction, first seek the wisdom of your own heart.

exerciseWalking Tall Exercise:
How does one listen to one's heart?  Try this exercise.

Sit comfortably, close your eyes, bring your awareness to the center of your chest. Sense inside-the wholeness, power and silence that exists there. As you do, you might notice your body relaxing, your breath deepening. This is a sign of approaching "home." Allow your awareness to sink deeper, like a pebble slowly sinking through water. Going deeper, it will become increasingly quiet, expanded and peaceful.

When settled, ask your question, whatever it is. Be present and listen. If it doesn't work the first time, let your breath be a vehicle that allows you to travel deeper into your heart. Take a few more deep breaths. Sense the wholeness, the silence there in the center of your chest, your heart cavity. Ask again, then listen.

Your heart knows. Your heart knows what is best for you. All you have to do is get quiet, ask, and listen. Then ... follow that wisdom.
