Sam was offered a rare opportunity to attend the "Leica Akadamie" in Solms, Wetzlar in Germany in August, for a hands-on two-day session with the S2 and M-series Digital 'system' cameras.
This photo shows the very first Leica 35mm camera manufactured alongside one of 500 Titanium M9s produced for Photokina last year!

We had another great day celebrating the birth of photography - it's a shame a lot of you had to work and couldn't join us. August 19th, 2012 falls on a Sunday so we hope to see all of you next year. When our helpful sales reps left we had to pry the EOS 5D video rig off Dom and the Leica S2 off Sam. Check out Dom's video to the right. A few old cameras were brought in for the "Oldest Camera" competition and the winner was Barry Wylde with his Houghton Klito falling plate magazine camera circa 1905 (picture dbelow).

NEW SERVICE... Studio Hire & Studio Portraits

 The studio is now up and running for those that wish to hire it for half a day. Hireage includes a backdrop, three lights, one umbrella and one softbox. Two lights are now on the wall freeing up floor space. Photo shows 1.35m backdrop - we normally use 2.7m width. Other accessories available - please discuss when booking. For those that would prefer studio portraiture captured by our team we can provide Product Photography, Personal & Family Studio Portraits, Business Headshots and Corporate Portraits. More info here.

"A Birth Certificate proves that you were born, a Death Certificate proves that you died.... PHOTOGRAPHS are proof that you lived!"
But you need to print and share those photos. If you can't find them because you have thousands of photos tossed in shoe boxes or sitting on your hard-drive waiting for you to find an extra month or two to sort them out then you need to learn about photo organising.
CLASSES:
I run a monthly class called "Got Too Many Photos? Learn How to Organise Them" where I share tips on sorting and organising boxes of photos & slides as well as organising the ever-increasing collection photos on your computer. This will be held in our store on the first Monday of each month at 7pm.
We need at least 6 bookings to run the class. $20 pp. Phone Jill at (07) 838 0031.

CONSULTATIONS:
I can visit your home and help you make sense of that huge pile of photos . . . by doing it with you or by sharing ideas and techniques you can use to do it on your own. More info here...
