THE 4F'S
OF CARD CARE...

Buy the FINEST cards. Don't skimp on a few dollars where memories are concerned.

FORMAT cards IN THE CAMERA before you use them the first time, to make them ready for YOUR camera.

FILL cards up WITHOUT DELETING IMAGES IN THE CAMERA. Deleting images in the camera just tells the camera that a block of space is available for writing to, and increases the chance of problems.

FILE the captured images in several places and only then do you wipe the card and FORMAT it for the next session.

photocompSHAPES PHOTO COMPETITION
...IT'S NOT OVER YET!

The "shapes" photo competition has closed. However after people
starting "voting" for some of the entries we decided to let you be the judge. We have selected a shortlist and posted these photos in an album on our Facebook page.
You are invited to vote for the one you like the best using the "like" link beneath the photo when you click to enlarge it (you won't see this "like" unless you are logged in). After 14 days we will count the votes and announce the winner and runners up.

RINGING OUR BELL @ FIELDAYS 2010...

We recently exhibited at the FIELDAYS, Mystery Creek, Hamilton for the ninth consecutive year. There's a lot of work setting up the site and tidying up afterwards but it's all done to "ring our bell". As a sponsor of the popular AgArt Wear we produce a PhotoBook of the entries for each of the winners and placegetters - a popular keepsake for the designers. We can reprint copies for other interested parties such as models - talk to Jill.
This year we also sponsored the Under-21 category and gave a DSLR twin lens kit to the winner - 15 yr old Tessa Paaymans, who designed and created "Tui Tara" from seeds, beans and Tui bottletops. This ensemble was also voted People's Choice... a fabulous effort Tessa!

WHO CARES ABOUT YOUR FAMILY HISTORY...

On July 17 & 18th Hamilton is hosting the NZ Family History Fair organised by the NZ Society of Genealogists. There will be seminars and research opportunities for beginners through to the more experienced family historian.
More information at this web site and this Facebook page.
The fair is supported by exhibitors such as Archives NZ, Family Search, NZ Society of Genealogists, and...Snapshot Cameras!  We will be focussing on the pictorial
side of the family history so call in and say hi if you're there.

...IF IT'S PHOTOS, WE DO !
Most families have at least one person who cares about the family's history - the family tree, the stories, the photos. So if that person's you but you won't be at the NZ Family History Fair let us help with anything to do with the photographic history.
Preserve those old photographs, slides, large negatives and documents with our photo scanning services which are the perfect way to make the collection available to the entire family. Once your photos are transferred into digital form it's easy to create reprints, enlargements and PhotoBooks without destroying your originals.

Thanks to all those that participated in our Photo Competition. As you read earlier we have selected our finalists and are now having a public vote to choose the winner. This month we will try something different - we will set a photo challenge - details will be posted on our Facebook page so keep watching. Any suggestions for challenges are most welcome - post them to our Facebook page or email them to me.
