Portraits Outdoors at Night Next time you photograph someone outdoors at night try the "Night Portrait" function on your digital camera. This function is designed for shooting portraits against a backdrop of night scenery - not indoors.
After the flash fires to illuminate the subject, the shutter stays open for a while afterwards to expose the scenery.
Because the shutter stays open for a few seconds you need to hold the camera very steady or use a tripod to avoid blur. |
