new arrivals... CAMERAS THAT CAPTURE REALLY W-I-D-E PANORAMAS !
We see new features all the time but this one really blew us away...the Sweep Panorama Mode on three of SONY's new Cybershot cameras (SONY WX1, HX1 and TX1).
This mode lets you easily capture wide
landscapes, wide buildings, tall church spires or tall skyscrapers with a huge field of view of up to 224 degrees! Just
press the shutter and shoot the scene with a sweeping motion. The
camera instantly and seamlessly stitches the images together - horizontally or
vertically. Absolutely amazing - no more stitching images in a photo editing program - and it's instant! This picture of the Waikato River was taken with the WX1 opposite Memorial Park and shows both the Claudelands & Victoria Bridges.
New service...we can now print banners up to 24"x72" so get sweeping and get printing! Really impress someone for Christmas. Mention this newsletter and we'll give you a coupon for a FREE 18x54" panoramic enlargement ($109 retail) when you buy a SONY WX1, HX1 or TX1 CAMERA. |

this month's FAQ... WHY ARE MY PHOTOS GRAINY?
If your photos look grainy (lots of incorrectly coloured dots) they were probably captured at too high an ISO (light sensitivity setting). The higher the ISO the grainier the photos can look. Most cameras use an Auto ISO setting that will increase the ISO as light diminishes. We recommend you change the ISO from AUTO ISO to a fixed ISO such as 200 or 400. As this is not possible in the fully automatic modes you may have to move to the P mode or similar.
If the image is blocky, with large-looking pixels, the most likely cause is that you've set your camera to capture images at a low resolution. Check your resolution setting and make sure it is on a high-resolution, high-quality mode.
