Dear Wylie Families and Friends,

June is an exciting month...spring is coming to an end, schools are getting out, and the start of a new summer begins!

Food BankFood Bank in Need
The Wylie Center needs your help. Our food bank and baby item closet helps many families in need by providing them with non-perishable food items and baby items like diapers and wipes.
We are seeing more families in need of these items, and we are running out of supplies.
Please help us by donating items to families in need.

Examples of needed items are: canned food, vegetables, pasta, rice, beans, spaghetti sauce, mac & cheese, diapers, baby wipes, baby wash, and baby gear (strollers and car seats)

Water Safety

As it heats up in the Inland Empire, more of us are going to head to the pool. Taking a few extra steps can help ensure you all have a great time and stay safe.  Here are some tips to help keep your child safe this summer.
1. Stay Close, be alert, and watch children in and around the pool
2. Learn and Practice Water Safety Skills
3. Have the appropriate pool equipment

Wylie Center Continues Green Efforts

Did you know that The Wylie Center recycles? We collect old cell phones and used ink cartridges and recycle them. We use the proceeds to support our programs. If you have an old cell phone laying around and any old ink cartridges, bring them in today! Help us continue our green efforts and support a Wylie Center program at the same time.

box topsWe also collect Box Tops! Look for these products in stores when you do your shopping. Cut them off your purchases, and bring them to The Wylie Center. The link below will help you find a complete list of products and will also allow you to set up an account linked to our school. Here is where you can help us earn our funding goals and watch how far we have come.

Thank you to everyone who came out to support Stroll A Thon at the Riverside Plaza last month. Families were able to raise awareness for women with post-partum mood disorders through an advocacy march. We are especially thankful to the Health Careers Organization from UCR for volunteering at the event and their support of The Wylie Center.

Everyone at The Wylie Center would also like to send a huge shout out and Thank You to the AssisteensAuxiliary of the Assistance League for donating to our scholarship fund and for the generous donation of program supplies.
