Do you know if your child is a bully?

The common belief that troubled students bully their peers is being challened by new research. The findings are showing that students are using bullying as a way to climb the social ladder. Many parents fear their child may be bullied, however, we must also make sure our child is not the bully either.

Tips for Parents:

-Notice if your child displays bullying tendencies such as lack of empathy, domination of others, selfishness or refusl to accept responsibility.

- If your child engages in bullying acts, he or she should apologize to the victims and undo any dmage, such as replacing stolen or destroyed property.

- Try to make sure your child doesn't interact with other bullies who may be influencing his or her behavior

- Help your child understand that physical or emotional abuse in never tolerated

-Talk to your child, other parents and teachers about what is going on. The more you know, the more you will be able to prevent at-risk behavior.
