AMC Entertainment and the Autism Society have teamed up to bring families affected by autism and other disabilities a special opportunity to enjoy their favorite films in a safe and accepting environment on a monthly basis with the "Sensory Friendly Films" program.

Positive strategies are given on how to advocate effectively for your child, strengthen relationships between parents and service agencies, and in help creating the appropriate IEP

Capable Girls Group
The Autism Society of Inland Empire and the Wylie Center have partnered up to provide a social group for girls!
friends
Come and meet other girls in a safe, structured environment and with a trained facilitator to help keep things on track! You will learn about the newest fashion trends, texting etiquette, how to accessorize. Come one time or to the whole series!

When: Tuesdays, 4 - 5:30 PM until Aug, 17 Ages:   13 - 17
Fee:    $10 per youth per weekly group
Where: The Carolyn E. Wylie Center

Don't Forget to Sign Up for the Incredible Years Classes!

Learn new ways to manage your children's behaviors. Topics include Positive Discipline Techniques,  Managing Misbehavior, Limit Setting, and more. This is a great class to learn about whining, tantrums, aggression, and disobedience.

Wylie Center families pay NO FEE. Dina-School for children ages 2 -12 included. Certificate awarded. For information on registration call (951) 683-5193.
 
Back to School Tips!

As the new school year approaches, many parents are faced with the challenge of sending their child back to school. Going back to school is filled with a lot of uncertainty and change is a huge transition. Here is a list of ideas to help prepare a child for the new school year and to make the transition easier.
 
· Reintroduce the concept of school by taking time to talk about it everyday.

· Books, movies, stories about school can help to introduce the idea of school.
· Talk to them about their teachers or friends they had this past school year.
·Show them pictures from the last school year. This will help them remember positive experiences.
· Put visual of their school or any school on the calendar.
· Driving by the school is another good idea.
· Slowly working them into the routine will be beneficial for both of you.
· Get them excited about back to school shopping.
