TopGreetings friends of FCA. It's harvest time!
Glenn Martin
The fruit of our ministry is changed hearts.  We can't point to anything that we have built, boxed up, fixed up, cured or otherwise help in physical ways.  The Fellowship of Christian Athletes presents to athletes and coaches the challenge and the adventure of receiving Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord.  Then the Holy Spirit reaps the harvest by changing hearts...one at a time.

Sometimes hearts get changed in larger numbers, like at a huddle or at one of our summer camps.  Overall, we had nearly 950 Minnesota campers at 11 camps - the most we have had in years!  According to our camp directors, 142 campers accepted Jesus Christ for the first time and 172 campers re-dedicated their lives to Christ.

This fall, our campus huddle ministry and our ministry to coaches begin a new school year.  A big part of our harvest field consists of the 20,000 athletes who graduate from our 490 high schools each year.  There are nearly 4,800 coaches in those schools.  Currently, we reach about 20% of these athletes and coaches; our hearts yearn to reach more.  Our 2020 Vision is to double the impact of FCA in five years and triple our impact in ten years by adding more part-time and full-time staff members.

As home missionaries, we cannot do this work without your prayers and financial support.  I am thankful that you partner with us to harvest the fields in Minnesota!  THANK YOU!  Let's work hard and enjoy the harvest!

LDCLeadership Camp  This year's camp played out on two incredible college campuses, Northwestern College and Bemidji State Univerity, and had one of the largest number of high school campers in recent years.
Junior High Pastor Heather Flies from Wooddale Church in Eden Prairie brought passion, energy, and a highly effective ability to reach this generation.  We also brought in a local world-class sports performance company, Velocity Sports Performance, for physical training and development.
The big surprise this year was waking up at 4:30 Saturday morning for a trip to the site of our new 2011 FCA CORE Camp:  Bemidji State University.  God moved.  Lives were changed.  Hearts were ignited to be the bold witness God has called us to be on our teams and in our schools.
GolfCmpGolf Camp God was at work at Pebble Creek Golf Club in the lives of 45 campers, 7 huddle leaders, and 16 clinicians alike!  Change in swing mechanics - change in mental preparation - change in attitudes - but most significantly, change in hearts with several new decisions for Christ and many others experiencing the power of God!
Jack, a camp counselor, shares his thoughts.  "It was truly a blessing to be a part of golf camp again this year.  God's presence was evident throughout the week!  It was awesome to see campers realize how golf can teach us to be people of integrity, responsible for our own actions, on the golf course and spiritually.."
CFCampCannon Falls Youth Sports Camp
This camp was a huge success in it's first year!  There were 61 campers, 8 huddle leaders, and 14 coaches.  Camp ran for 3 days where campers were able to choose 2 different sports each day.
RochCampRochester Youth & Middle School Sports
This camp was Southeast MN's biggest camp ever!  With the two camps combined, there were 240 campers, 32 huddle leaders, and 24 coaches.

GolfGolf Tourneys
Monday, June 21st at Bunker Hills Golf Course in Coon Rapids, marked Minnesota FCA's 34th Annual Golf Classic.  The theme for the tournament was "Fill the Bus".  Monies were raised via specialty hole contests and a live auction of "seat sales" for our camp program transportation and scholarships.  The program at dinner featured two FCA huddles - Hastings and Eden Prairie high schools.  Students from these huddles volunteered throughout the day and shared the impact of FCA in their schools - reminding us all of the reason for supporting this ministry.

John GordonThe John Gordon Touch 'Em All Golf Classic

Each Year John Gordon, radio voice of the Minnesota Twins, hosts the Touch 'Em All Golf Classic, a function of the Twins Community Fund.  John generously designates a large portion of the proceeds from this event to Minnesota FCA.  Nearly 30 teams participated and each one was paired with a Twins celebrity.  John, his wife, Nancy, and their son, Gordy, are loyal supporters of FCA in many other ways too.  Gordy serves on the state FCA leadership board.

THANK YOU, John Gordon!
