What is Campus 101?

The one place where every athlete, coach and volunteer can learn what FCA Campus Ministry is, and how to use it effectively.

It includes four components that work together to train, equip, connect and grow. It uses videos, quizzes, resources and interaction from the whole FCA family to unify, enhance and advance our Campus Ministry. Check it out at

 Welcome to Fall in Minnesota!
Glenn Martin
This is my favorite time of year - the beauty of the season reminds me of God's power, creativity, faithfulness and love.  Jesus said that if God feeds the birds and grows the wildflowers of the field, he most certainly  will care for us!  His love is beyond our understanding and we need to rest in it and draw from it as we do his kingdom-building work.
Our camp season this summer was fantastic.  Across the state we held 8 camps/clinics with over 950 athletes, 90 huddle leaders and 100 coaches.  Dozens made first-time commitments to Christ.
Also this summer, we conducted the first-ever Coaches Legacy Builders retreat, blessing both the coaches and their spouses.  In August, a group of men conducted a Harley Davidson prayer ride where 17 schools in the West Metro were visited and prayed for.
As this new school year is now in full swing, I invite you to unite with us and help us develop the camps, campus and coaches ministries of FCA in order to mobilize passionate athletes, coaches and community members who will, in turn, bring others to Christ!

State Director, FCA-MN
Fall kicks off!
Fall is always a busy time for us!  We currently have 100 high school and college huddles underway, chapels for college and university teams and one-on-one visits with their leadership teams, and 12 Legacy Builder study programs through our Coaches Ministry.

Coming up...

October 14 - Fields of Faith is a peer-to-peer ministry event where students invite their classmates and teammates to hear fellow students share their testimonies, be challenged to read the Word of God and follow Jesus Christ. An athletic field provides a neutral, interdenominational rally point where a community can come together.  Visit www.fieldsoffaith.com for more information.

November 12 - Southeast MN Fall Banquet in Rochester with special guest speaker Paul Molitor.  For more information click here to see the brochure or contact J.D. Bickle at [email protected].
Campus Ministry Highlight
Rochester Century H.S.
God is on the move at Century High School!  After starting a Legacy Builders Study with several of the CHS coaches, the Century FCA Huddle has grown to a solid weekly attendance of 30 student athletes.  This year, some of the key FCA leaders on the football team initiated a voluntary post-game prayer as a time of reflection with their teammates on what is really important.

Coaches Ministry Highlight
Legacy Builders Weekend in St. Croix Falls
This past July, the Coaches Ministry staff held the first Legacy Builders Weekend in St. Croix Falls for 31 coaches and their spouses. The weekend was designed to encourage, equip, and energize coaches and their spouses in a relaxing setting.
Speakers included Rod Olson (FCA National Coaches Ministry Director), Dave Gibson (Pastor, Grace Church Eden Prairie), Kirk Talley (NWC Football Coach), and Terri Talley (NWC instructor).  header
U of MN men's basketball coach, Tubby Smith and his wife Donna, joined them on a St. Croix River paddle boat cruise where Tubby shared the importance of his faith and how it impacts how he lives and coaches.
A changed life...
As a sophmore at Gustavus Adolphus, Dave signed up to be a huddle leader at Sports Camp that summer.  During the first days of camp good things were happening.  However, Dave was cautioned that many students were struggling with strongholds in their life.  Dave did not fully understand what that really meant until the last night of camp as those students responded to the gospel.  He was blessed to have the priviledge of praying with an 8th grader who committed his life to Jesus Christ.

Driving home, Dave felt like he'd been given a new calling and knew what God wanted to do with his life.  During the following months, Dave left Gustavus, enrolled at Northwestern College, and changed his major to Youth Ministry - shocking friends and even himself.  He began working with teenagers in a local church and after graduating, moved to Denver and attended seminary.  He is now a full-time youth pastor of a church in Colorado.

Praise God for a young man who answered the Lord's call on his life, by signing up to be an FCA camp huddle leader and boldly stepping out in faith!
