Greetings!
What a busy month for the Nutrition Mission team, with two opportunities for you to come and meet us, oh and don't forget there will be cake to try!!
The team are once again attending Coventry's Mind Body and Spirit festival on Sunday 13th June 2010 at the Sport's Connection at Ryton-on-Dunsmore, Coventry CV8 3FL. We'll be there from 10am until 4pm will happily talk to you about how we can make a difference to your health and how to achieve wellness using food as your primary medicine.
On Saturday 19th June, our Coventry clinic is having an open day and charity event in aid of Coventry's air ambulance from 1pm until 4pm. There will be tasters of reiki and reflexology and, of course, the Nutrition Mission team will be there to talk with you about your health and wellness concerns and interests.
We look forward to seeing you at one of our events this month.

| Food Journal Booklets |
We were approached a month or so ago by Alex Hayes about putting together a food journal booklet. Alex is a young lad who has designed these journals on his own in order to raise £2000.00 in sponsorship to attend the World Scout Jamboree in Sweden in 2011. He has been working very hard to raise this money and we felt that his idea for the food journal was an excellent one. It lasts for 1 month and is a great way of keeping track of what, when and how you eat which makes it easy to see if there is anything missing from your diet or if there are any nutrients that you're getting too much of!!

These booklets cost just £1.00 each plus 42p postage and packing, and are available by contacting info@NutritionMission.co.uk. Alex is selling these booklets at the Belfry in Warwickshire through Jim Walker as well as in and around the Sutton Coldfield area.

'Good to Know...' Berries. | |
Berries.
All sorts of berries are in abundance at this time of year and are delicious picked, rinsed with filtered water and eaten as a snack or dessert. They're fabulously sweet without having to resort to the unhealthy, refined sugar alternatives and, unlike refined sugar, they are incredibly nutritious.
Berries contain varying different amounts of vitamin C which, amongst other things, is great for a strong immune system, as well as potassium which plays a vital role in maintaining the body's mineral and fluid balance.
The wonderful blue and red hues of berries are great for health as they contain potent antioxidants which mop up troublesome and dangerous free radicals; these free radicals are responsible for many diseases including cancer.
In urinary tract infections, such as cystitis, bacteria sticks to the cells that make up the lining of the urinary tract. Cranberries and blueberries contain a substance called proanthocyanidin which prevents the bacteria from sticking to the cells in the urinary tract thus preventing the infection. So if you suffer from any urinary tract infection start eating cranberries and blueberries in abundance.
