Greetings! | |
WIth everything going on in the world, don't get too busy and preoccupied and forget about the really important things in life, like Mother's Day! Sunday the 8th is Mother's Day - that's not too far away.
Regardless of what we fathers would like to think, we all know who is really the one in charge inside the four walls of our homes. My father always tells me, "I'm the one in charge. Your mother said I could be."
Of course, so many of us don't really appreciate or even realize all that goes into being a good mother or father until we become one. Then we begin to experience all the worries and hopes that our parents did with us. And, over the years we are amazed at the people and parents our mothers and fathers had been for us and to us!
My family is so extremely blessed that my beautiful wife is able to stay home with our five young boys. She is the one who spends most of the time with the boys, she home schools our oldest, cleans, grocery shops, does laundry, cooks, coordinated schedules, and countless other tasks. I can't even pretend to know all she does. She is truly an amazing woman and I love her dearly! When she is out enjoying a girl's night out, I do good just to get them all fed and put in bed. I don't see how she does is day after day. It is remarkable how God has wired women differently than men. Mothers are indeed the glue that hold the family together and the one who truly makes our houses our homes.
Take the time on Sunday and let your mother know how much you appreciate all she did for you and all the sacrifices she made for you. Tell her how much you love her and how much she means to you. Whether you acknowledge it or not, she shaped you into the person you are today more than you can possibly imagine.

In 1986, with little more than a telephone and a desk, Life Choices began its ministry to women facing the prospect of an unplanned pregnancy and the life-impacting decisions a young mother might face in making a plan for her life and the life of her unborn child. We have heard the story many times of how a young woman called - they weren't even sure how she got the number - and simply said, "I think I'm pregnant. Can you help me?"
That first phone call began a relationship betwen Life Choices and thousands of women - and their partners, in many cases - who are all basically asking the same question our first client asked so long ago. The number one priority for Life Choices, even unto this present day, is to tell women the truth, answering their questions with the respect and dignity we feel all women deserve - regardless of their ultimate decision.

Gun Powder is a recurring article in Libertas! It is written by a female, from a female's perspective, dealing with female topics, but intended for everyone's benefit! Enjoy!
For those of you that are putting rounds down range and wondering why they are not going a certain direction, refer to the images below. Customers commonly ask for these diagrams. I recommend you keep these diagrams in your range bag and refer to them as needed when you practice. There is a wheel for right handed shooters and another for left handed shooters. As an instructor I can honestly say the biggest issue is the lack of one of the two most important fundamentals - trigger control. Many people anticipate the recoil by breaking their wrist up or more commonly down. Solve this by pulling the trigger straight to the rear in SLOW MOTION (really, really slow). If you are surprised when the bullet exits and you have proper sight alignment the bullet will land where you want it. Another common problem is squeezing the gun too tight with the dominant hand (generally men).

Starting on Wednesday, May 4th, Wednesday nights will be Trivia Night at 1776! Every Wednesday night, starting at 6:00pm, come out and test your trivia knowledge against other Range USA customers. Beginning in May, you can get breakfast on Saturday mornings at 1776 starting at 8:00am. The menu will initially consist of bacon, sausage, eggs, hashbrown casserole, toast, coffee, milk, and juice, but will expand as the weeks go on. Come out on Saturday mornings, enjoy a great breakfast and be the first ones on the range for some trigger time! Then you have the rest of the day for errands and honey-do lists.
1776 now has Free Wi-Fi! Come on in and work on homework, surf the web, or get on Facebook to invite friends to Range USA!

Do you have an organization you are trying to raise money for? Have the bake sales and car washes let you down? Have we got a program for you! Now it's easy for your marching band, cheerlading squad, t-ball team, youth group, football team, dance group, etc. to raise money! Range USA will designate a day for your group, you spread the word to anyone and everyone associated with the group of that day, tell them to come spend money at Range USA, and we will donate a percentage of those sales to your group! The hardest thing you have to do is to let everyone know what day is yours. If they plan on shooting, buying ammo, taking a class, or buying a gun, have them do it on your groups day!
