NEW BEGINNINGS
It's a new year; the traditional time of the year to hit the big "Reset" button. The time to change the things you didn't like last year (and we all have things we want to change). The time of year to become the person you want to be. I've heard it put this way before - to become the person your dog thinks you are. Well, it's not easy to change. You've done it that way for years! And, you know it's difficult. After all, you've tried to change things in the past, only to revert back to your old ways. But, as you embark on this metamorphosis, remember two things. One, it's never too late to become the person you want to be. No matter how old you are or how long you've been practicing your bad habits. Two, there will be setbacks. Expect them, but don't let them last long. My trainer explained it to me this way. Suppose you forget to brush your teeth one morning. You don't wait until Monday to start brushing your teeth again. You don't wait until after Super Bowl Sunday to brush your teeth. No, you start brushing your teeth again as soon as you can. The same goes for trying to eat healthier, for example. If you mess up and pig out one meal, get right back on the program for the very next meal. Don't wait until the next day or the following Monday. Start back immediately. Use this philosophy in any area you want to improve. Easier said than done, right? I know. I'm in the same boat, but we have to keep trying!

We are being threatened with universal healthcare (i.e. socialized medicine), illegal immigration is still running rampant, our Constitution is being dismantled, our government is swelling to never-before-seen proportions, corrupt ACORN is influencing the highest levels of our government, the belief of socialism and the redistribution of wealth is being forced upon us, corporate bailouts are diametrically opposed to our capitalistic system, we are spending more money than five generations could possibly repay, we are in debt up to our eyeballs to the Chinese, the crazy dictators of the oil producing countries still have us where they want us, we are fighting two wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, our 2nd Amendment is under constant attack as is the sanctity of unborn babies, unemployment is much higher than it should be, whacko environmentalists are lying to everyone to propagate their "religion", there are blame-America-first socialists in control in Washington (and in my opinion, people who actually want to see an end to the very America that has gotten them to where they are), and what does Congress do about it.......?
Congress is conducting hearings concerning the.........BCS process! You heard me right. Congress is investigating how college football teams are chosen for their bowl appearances! With all the threats against America today, WHO CARES?! Aren't there bigger issues to contend with? Wouldn't you think that there were more important things to take care of, spend our time on, and spend "the peoples" resources on? I say, 100% YES! But, what do I know? I'm just a dog.
