Harry Lewis Scholarship announced at 10th anniversary party

At the foundation's 10th anniversary celebration party last week, approximately 200 friends joined together to celebrate the successes of the foundation over the last decade.  Frances Sheehan commented, "None of this important work can be successful without each of you and the organizations, groups and affiliations you represent. Whether you are with one of the many wonderful grantee non-profits that we fund, or are one of our donors, or work in the Coatesville Area School District, or in a local business, are an elected official, or work in one of the excellent government agencies we have in Chester County - we consider you a part of our team working together to make sure that the Coatesville area becomes one of the healthiest communities in Pennsylvania - for every child, for every family.

Harry Lewis and Tom BelmontTom Belmont, past chairman of the foundation's board (pictured right) had a surprise announcement that a donor had established a college scholarship fund for a Coatesville Youth Initiative participant to receive a partial college scholarship.  The fund is named the Harry Lewis Scholarship, recognizing Harry (pictured left), the foundation's board chairman, and beloved former high school principal, teacher and track coach and Coatesville resident since the age of two.  If interested in making a donation to this special scholarship, please contact Dana HeimanClick here to view fabulous photos of the event by volunteer Gary Zenker of Rouse/Chamberlin Homes.

Festive 5K
It was a beautiful morning in downtown Coatesville as hundreds of runners and walkers of all ages took to the streets on December 3, in support of the Coatesville Youth Initiative! The event brought together hundreds of residents as well as visitors into downtown Coatesville. Our goal was to produce a healthy community event in every sense of the word, and with generous supporters, countless in-kind donations to our post race festivities from local businesses, and over 100 caring volunteers; we believe we achieved that goal and more!  Click here to read more about the event and to check out photos.
