It has been over a year since US Xerox discontinued wide format sales in North America. Since then, Evergreen has stepped into the breach assuring a brighter future for wide format products and dealers around the world. In this edition, we lay out a variety of new initiatives Evergreen is pursuing to provide enhanced support for it's dealer channel.

An Alternative to KIP & Oce'
From the time Xerox announced their departure from wide format sales in North America, Evergreen has been working diligently to help. Most Xerox dealers found themselves in the unenviable position having to sell the same products their competition had already been selling.
The first step Evergreen took was to begin remanufacturing Xerox wide format equipment. This equipment is priced to provide a competitive alternative to KIP and Oce' equipment in both pricing and performance. However, many dealers told us they also needed a new product line to offer that is neither KIP or Oce'.
To answer this demand we tried every alternative possible to reintroduce Fuji products back into the North American market. Unfortunately, the ironclad contract between US Xerox and Fuji made that path an impossible one while remaining competitive in price.
Evergreen then began analyzing the possibilities offered by other manufactures around the world. The choices came down to two manufacturers, ROWE in Germany, and Seiko-I USA. ROWE offers the quality of German engineering, and has a very strong market share in Europe. However, when balancing cost and other logistical benefits, we determined that Seiko was the preferable choice for the North American market.
Evergreen Named as US Distributor for Seiko-I
Evergreen is excited to announce it is now a national distributor for Seiko-I USA. Evergreen will be signing up dealers in the US to sell and service Seiko equipment under the Evergreen banner. We will be offering numerous financial incentives to Evergreen dealers who adopt the Seiko line through us. Plans include discounted equipment pricing, discounts on Xerox parts based upon Seiko sales volume, and innovative sales and service training programs. Send me your tired, your worn, your scratched drums yearning to reborn..
For several months now, Evergreen Technologies has been working with an independent drum manufacturer. We are working together in order to develop replacement drums for the 6204/6604 and 6279. These drums are currently in field testing and show very favorable results. In order to produce replacement drums, Evergreen will be recycling the end bells from used drums.

The Seiko Advantage
Some may remember the first monochrome digital product from Seiko, the LP-1010. This product was introduced some years ago. While it was reliable, and priced competitively, the software was its Achilles heel.
However, in recent years, Seiko has made impressive strides in both hardware and software development. Most notably, is the recent introduction of the Teriostar LP-1030 and LP-2050. Both machines are designed and priced to exceed customer requirements, while providing profits for the dealers who sell them. Both models are very reliable, and share nearly 75% of the same parts.
The Teriostar LP-1030 is a two roll 600 DPI multifunction printer with a print output speed of 7.5 D's per minute. At no additional cost, the color scanner scans at a blazingly fast 9 IPS in both B&W and color scan modes! An excellent innovation in the scanner is a dual LED illumination system that virtually eliminates fold marks from scans. Also included standard with the LP-1030 is PDF file processing. To help conserve customer space, the foot print of this machine is even smaller than the Xerox 6204.
For higher volume customers, there is the Teriostar LP-2050. This is a four roll printer running at 10-D's per minute with rear exit of prints. The 2050 offers the same high speed color scanner as the LP-1030, and is priced very competitively.

Evergreen Begins Stocking HP Design Jet Parts
Most wide format dealers around the US sell and service HP Design Jet products. However, these dealers have long bemoaned the difficulties they face in sourcing HP Design Jet parts. They are frustrated by back orders of commonly used parts, and the need to source these parts outside of HP.
In an effort to alleviate some of this frustration, Evergreen has begun finding alternate sources for some of the most commonly used Design Jet parts. We presently have a limited number of parts in stock, and need your assistance to insure our stocking levels are adequate to your need. So we want to hear from you to let us know what parts you want us to stock.
Help Evergreen determine the proper stocking levels of parts you require by filling out a simple survey. Each dealer or service organization to fill out our survey will receive a $50 credit towards their first order of Design Jet parts.
