Evergreen is Spreading it's Branches! |
Greetings!
Regular readers of this newsletter will note that our last
release was back in March. I regret the gap in our coverage, but instead have been busy
with numerous projects, aimed at increasing our capabilities at Evergreen.
The economic down-turn has not been good for anyone.
However, these circumstances have made dealers all the more anxious to embrace
the products and services we at Evergreen offer. In addition, rolling parts
outages at Xerox have caused dealers to turn to Evergreen for an increasingly
wider range of parts. For these reasons, we have been expanding on a number of
fronts. See the articles below for more details about how Evergreen is growing
and addressing your needs.
We are implementing changes to our newsletter program as
well. See the article about how these changes may affect you.
As always, I am interested in hearing from you about the
kinds of articles you would like to see in this newsletter. Please give me a
call, or drop me a line anytime.
Make this a fantastic month,
Carl Byrne

Our Friends in Switzerland

One of the joys of business can be meeting new people. We
have been fortunate to meet interesting folks from around the world who are
involved with wide format products.
In this edition of the newsletter, we would
like to introduce some of the folks at SUPAQ, the Xerox wide format dealership
in Switzerland. Pictured here from left to right: Christian Stebler, Beat
Sollberger, Urs Rohner, and Rolf Habisreutinger.
Urs (shown holding up a 510
AC Module) is a 20 year member of the company. Urs has described a company
culture at SUPAG that reminds me of the one I experienced at Xerox back in the
70's. For his 20 year anniversary with the company, SUPAG treated Urs and his
wife to a weekend getaway that sounded quite exceptional. It is heartening to know
that there are still companies who show their appreciation to employees with long time
service!
Working in the land of Swiss chocolate, and gold filled bank accounts, the folks at
SUPAG support a variety of interesting accounts. One of these accounts, Jet Aviation specializes in custom made luxury
aircraft.
Check out some of the planes this company produces.

The Evergreen Family is Growing!
You will be hearing new voices on the line when calling Evergreen. A
good friend and colleague, Brad Hansen has recently decided to lend his
support to Evergreen. Brad has extensive experience with wide format equipment
and will be applying that experience to serve you better. Like me, Brad is a traditional
fellow who believes that we succeed in business only by serving our customers'
needs. When he is not making calls for Evergreen, Brad thoroughly enjoys
getting his exercise out on the golf course. If Brad calls, please extend a
hearty welcome. My brother, Steve Byrne has also joined the growing Evergreen
Family. Steve has been chomping at the bit to get involved with Evergreen for some time now. He comes to Evergreen with an extensive technology background. Steve's
career has been largely devoted to computer programming and other IT disciplines.
However, Steve has also had his hand in product development and machine design. He is actively involved in a local arts organization and creates art glass
in his spare time. At Evergreen, Steve will be assisting with back office
development and other technical areas. Don't be surprised if you catch him on
the phone as well. |
Our New Phone System
Increased call volumes have dictated a change in the way we
handle calls. We are in the process of implemented a new phone system with an
automated attendant. We all hate automated attendants. However, if we are engaged with other callers,
you may get the auto-attendant. Please bear with us, and we will respond to
your call as quickly as possible. On the up side, we have added a new toll free
number, 877-385-7792. So in the future, feel free to call us on our dime.

Order Processing & Distribution
Distribution:
We now serve dealers all across the US, Canada, and numerous
continents around the globe. As such, we recognize the need to have a
distribution network that mirrors the areas where our main customers are
located. We have found an international distribution company to
help us resolve this issue. Our goal is to have our parts distributed from numerous
warehouses around the US and Europe by the end of September. This move should
make getting shipments to you faster, and less expensive than we have in the
past. The goal is to make 1-2 day ground shipments possible for most dealers in
the US. The UK distribution center will greatly reduce shipping times and costs
to our European customers.
As the number of orders we process each day has steadily
increased, we have recognized the need to streamline this process. Our website
will soon be enabled to allow online ordering. This will provide productivity
gains for both us and our customers. Look for an official announcement once
this system is fully functional. |
US Soldier Responds to HP Tech Support
If you
have ever been frustrated by any aspect of HP's technical support these days, wait until
you see this YouTube video segment!
This clip was produced by a few US soldiers
stationed in Iraq. They were responding to the level of support they received when calling HP Tech Support. In fairness, HP responded quickly when this video first
appeared on the web. As a result, HP now offers a free Tech Support phone number for all US
Military personnel. Check out this link!

Over Stocked Parts While our main focus will always be finding ways to recycle
or otherwise increase the life of parts; reselling parts is increasingly
becoming an important part of our business. As such, we are finding ourselves
reselling excess parts inventory for a number of dealers.
Whether new or used,
if you find there are more parts gathering dust on your shelves then you
would prefer, talk to us about how we may help. Ultimately, we will be selling
dealer's excess inventory through our e-commerce channel. For now, we are matching excess inventory parts with the right buyers. |

As our regular readers know, the Evergreen Newsletter contains
a broad range of article topics. We try to keep the newsletter largely informational in content. In so doing, we sometimes fail to advise you of new products Evergreen has made available.
We also include articles that are more directed at issues important to
management, in the same edition containing our technical articles. Many of you have told
us that you are only interested in certain subjects, and would prefer a newsletter tailored to your interests.
Moving forward, we will publish several different types of
publications. The technical version of the newsletter will be devoted to
technical and industry related topics. There will be a separate newsletter
aimed at management and owner issues. Last, we will periodically publish emails that
promote new products, or special offers from Evergreen.
If you wish to
receive all of our various publications, then simply do nothing. We will happily
sprinkle your In Box with interesting and useful information.
Otherwise, if you would prefer to fine tune the versions of our publications, then please select the link
Subscriptions found at the bottom of the list running along the left edge above. You will be redirected to our subscription screen. There you may
choose to be placed on whichever distribution list you prefer.
