We hope that your holidays were great, and that the new year has started off well for you and your organization.
As you may have noticed at the end of last year, we began extending the interval between our newsletters. We have been busy developing new products, and reaching out to more dealers around the world. However, you can count on Evergreen to bring you articles of interest as the new decade unfolds.

We have all experienced faulty electronic connections. Often the problem can be resolved by reseating electrical connections in the machine. There is a liquid that works well to resolve and prevent oxidation on these electronic contacts. Deoxit, as the name implies, deoxidizes electronic contacts. It may serve you well to keep a small bottle in your tool bag. You may order this magical liquid from Caig Laboratories.
 Commonly known as "Yellow Towels" these wonderful tech aids should be in every tool bag. If you have never used these before, you should order some today. The towels are impregnated with special oil that enables the towel to quickly remove toner from a machine surface, or from most cloths. Before using the towel, you stretch the cloth, which releases the oils. I have used these towels when they were literally black with toner, and yet they will still continued to pick-up toner. The product name for these towels is "Wipe, Stretch 'n Dust" by Chicopee. You may purchase them through Ames Supply. |

Thinking Small Can Earn You Big $$$
 In these challenging times, we are all trying to optimize every opportunity with our existing customer base. Some wide format dealers have discovered a new revenue stream made possible through managing their existing customer's small format equipment. This is a departure from the market we all know so well. However it makes so much sense when you think about it. Typically, the one or two pieces of wide format equipment in a given customer's office are surrounded by numerous medium to large size copiers and printers. Not to mention the many small desk-top printers found in every office. Wouldn't it be great to capitalize on the print volume that is going through all these other machines?
Recently Xerox introduced a program that will enable you to do just that. The program is titled Page Pack 3.0. There are several levels of commitment within this program, which may be utilized in order to manage the entire fleet of a customer's printer / copier base. Cement the relationship with your existing customer base by expanding your involvement to encompass their entire printing needs. Start thinking big!

The End of Frozen Bearings
 As we all know, the fuser and pressure roller bearings in the 510 have been a persistent source of service calls. The grease in the bearings dries up, which then results in a service call. Well, never again!
Evergreen has developed a way to prevent these bearings from failing. In order to keep the cost down, we buy the bearings from China. However, a US company then flushes out the bearings and replaces the standard grease with a special high temperature blend. For a few dollars more than standard Xerox bearings, you can get Evergreen life time warrantee bearings. So say good-bye to fuser bearing related failures! |
