BRING OUT YOUR DEAD....  PARTS! Goul Carl

In keeping with the season, we are working to bring back the dead. Instead of robbing graves, we are on the prowl for parts that had been destined for the landfill. (Now that is a frightening thought!)

If you have been reluctant to collect those worn out parts, think again! The Mad Doctor of Evergreen has been fervently working on remanufacturing a variety of parts for the 6000 series Xerox products.

As such, many of the parts that up to The Mad Doctornow have been resigned to the landfill will be brought back to life.

If you are not doing so already, begin saving Fuser Rollers, BCR Rollers, Developer Rollers, and Cleaning Blade Assemblies for the 6204, 6030/50, and 6279 printers.

One stormy night in the near future, you will be glad you did!

The S.M.O.K.E Wrap-up

 SMOKE Banner
If you have been following this story over the past few months, you will recall that our heroes had their big cook-off a few weekends ago. Battling grueling temperatures in the mid to upper 90's (fall has not arrived in Florida yet) our guys kept their 8830 Smoker going for two days straight, 24-7!

As the only newbie contestants in this competition, our boys were at a distinct disadvantage. However, they persevered undaunted. While they did not walk away with the gold, they did learn a lot, which will make them far better prepared for their next competition. The S.M.O.K.E. team of Mike and Steve did receive very high marks in the categories for which they were competing. The best thing was all the looks and comments of "what the heck?" when people saw their completely unique and unorthodox meat smoker.

Spurred on by this competition, our heroes have set their sights on at least seven competitions in 2010. If you would like to see more pictures, and follow the progress of Team S.M.O.K.E. check out their new web site.

Steve and Mike have proved that "Old 8830's never die, they just smoke away."

Train All The Techs

School HouseMost of you know Bill Everline from his days as lead trainer for Xerox Wide Format equipment in Leesburg. Since retiring from Xerox Bill has been actively working on a variety of projects  with Evergreen Technologies. He is also beginning to provide innovative training to Xerox dealers.

All dealers have an ongoing need for training their technicians on new products. However the cost of having a technician out of the field for one or two weeks is very expensive. There is the lost productivity in the field, travel expenses, and the cost of the Xerox training course itself. As a result, some dealers opt for on-the-job training. The success of this approach is largely dependent upon the skills of the technician who is providing the training.

Bill offers a cost effective alternative to these more traditional training approaches. Bill will travel to your location, and hold an onsite training class. While onsite, Bill will train as many technicians as you chose; all at a fraction of the total cost incurred by training one technician at a time through Xerox. For more information, contact Bill.

Bubba Say, "Oh @&# !!"

50 Steps CoverWhen Bubba first introduced our new fuser gear for the 8850/510 back in the July issue; we were very excited. It was a thrilling prospect that our high reliability fuser gears would be produced with no coloration added. Imagine our surprise when we opened the two cases of gears, only to find that they were all colored black instead!

There was a misunderstanding with the molder, who took it upon himself to add the colorant. The vendor thought that they were doing us a favor by producing the gears with a consistent black coloration.  This situation left us with two choices. Either have the vendor produce the gears again in their natural coloring (and throw away the black ones) or just keep what we had. In keeping with our goal to unburden the landfills, we decided to keep the black gears. They will still be the high reliability parts we have promised to you, as their life time warrantee assures. They simply won't be as unique looking as the natural material would have been. Sigh.......

PS: Bubba insisted we let you know that he had nothing to do with this mix-up. His legal council impelled us to write a retraction and apologize for involving Bubba in this whole unfortunate affair. Of course, we had to comply as it is in Bubba's contract that we not put misleading words into his mouth.... Just more fish food, thank you very much!

Evergreen's Trade-in, Trade-up Program

Talking with many of you, we have come to understand that some dealers have a stock pile of Xerox brand fuser gears. Knowing that you cannot upgrade your 8850/510 fleet with our high reliability gears until this stock has been depleted has been a source of frustration for many. To address this situation, Evergreen is introducing a way to trade-up to our gears. We will trade you one of our life guarantee gears for each new in the box Xerox gear, along with a payment of $5 each. We will recycle the Xerox gears, and enable your dealership to begin the process of purging your equipment fleet of these troublesome parts once and for all!

Offer Expires: November 31, 2009
