| While things are finally starting to heat up outside, the Ride for Kids crew has been in full gear since well before the calendar or Mother Nature declared the start of summertime!
Rumor has it that for many of you, the Ride for Kids is largely a one-day event, perhaps with a few days (ok, a few hours) of training and fundraising thrown in for good measure. But, for the Ride staff and affiliated agencies, it is a year-round, multi-seasonal effort!
While you're scraping the ice off your windshield... Groundwork is laid for the next Ride for Kids event. The date is secured, major sponsors are resigned, marketing materials are created, and new organizations are considered as potential affiliates.
While you're planting your petunias.... Fundraising kicks into high gear. Ride Headquarters and affiliated agencies reach out to sponsors and begin spreading the word to riders and volunteers.
While you're sitting in Cape traffic... Details begin to fall into place. Riders register, volunteers are recruited, logistics are nailed down, training rides begin, and fundraising hits its peak.
While you're starting to rake your leaves... Ride day arrives. Thousands of us come together, not just for a cycling event, but to celebrate a mission we all believe in - improving the lives of at-risk children.
So why procrastinate til those leaves begin to fall? In between soaking up those rays (or dodging raindrops) take some time to think about how YOU are going to get involved with the Ride for Kids this year.
However you choose to GET INVOVLED, thank you. |
