Hi and welcome to our August Newsletter. With so much rain last month lets hope August can deliver the summer we all need. The Figaro is such a fabulous car to own when the sun is out and anyway I've just brought myself some funky shades and I'm desperate to do some serious posing!

So just why was FigFest so poorly attended?
For those of you who drove (some hundreds of miles) to attend FigFest 2012 a couple of weeks it was very much appreciated. I felt so sorry for Richard and Paul who had put a lot into this event and you could see in their faces the disappointment with the turnout. Yes the weather forecast was rubbish (with 9 flood warnings) but you can drive a Figaro in the rain? As a club it's so important we all try and support these events otherwise they may fall by the way side and be lost forever. Having spoken to Richard he has plans next year to offer more attractions. In addition to the Sunday Convoy I feel a Saturday Convoy to say 'Cromer' would be a great idea and maybe take in a Crab Cromer Sandwich too!

Might catch you at the Milton Keynes Car Show - 19th August

New Leather Seat Covers from 300
Surrey Trimming Company are offering special rates for our members. They claim that the leather has been made to match the original colour. In order to do this, because the leather colour fades and becomes dirty, they took an original cover apart and matched it from a seam where the leather is still in its original state. If your seats are looking a need of a facelift it may be great investment.

Figaro Calendar Photos Wanted

It's hard to believe that summer is in full swing...and it's time to start planning for the 2013 Figaro Wall Calendar! We are excited to keep this yearly calendar tradition going and be able to showcase our gorgeous Figaros of all colours in some of the most spectacular and remote places on the globe.

Milton Keynes Show 19th August
Why not join us at the show? Last year we won 'Club of the Show' so lets see if we can repeat it! Okay we accept the show is not the largest in town but why not just use it as a meeting point and get together with other owners.

How it all started

This month we have covered an interesting event that took place last year in Tokyo's Ginza district, Nissan Ginza Gallery, Feb 27 2010 to March 24, (Car Design History of Nissan's Passion and Style (literally "functional beauty") exhibition opening event. Its wonderful to see this type of material.

Remove Hockey Stock Trim

White Wall Trims
Rear Wing Damage

Glad I found this forum - first post on this new forum - was a member on the old one way back. We are finally selling our beloved Fig after more than 6 years but I just need to get a tiny bit of bubbled paint sorted near the rear wheel arch - it's between the bumper and the "hockey stick" shaped piece of trim. How do we get that trim off without breaking it, and so it will go back on securely please?! Also as a Lapis Grey is WK4 the right paint code? Anything I should pass onto body shop regarding type of paint? Many Thanks.

The rear hockey sticks are push on clips. They break quite easily, but are fortunately fairly short. I prise them up with a plastic spatular, to spread the load, and touch wood, have not broken either of them yet. The front ones are held with nuts and bolts, but as the front wings are plastic, rust on the bodywork is not a problem. The female part is still available from Nissan, but the male part comes with the hockey stick. good luck. Edward.
Guys hope you can help, does anyone know what adhesive to use when putting on white wall trims to make sure they stay tight to the wheel? thanks

I'm pretty sure you don't stick them on. You deflate the tyre a bit and break the seal round the rim. Then you put the white wall trim inside the rim, and inflate the tyre and the white wall is "nipped" between the tyre and the rim. When the tyre is fully inflated the white wall is forced against the tyre wall. Sticking things to the tyre is difficult.

After shearing through the rubber exhaust mountings on Friday (thanks Brian at Jap Cars for the replacements!) I managed to dent my rear passenger side wing this morning - am absolutely gutted! not to mention in the dog house with hubby! Have been to the body shop and they think they can fix the wing by beating out the dent but the chrome strip along the top of the wing has been damaged. Can anyone tell me where I can try and source a reasonably priced replacement. Is it the sort of thing that you can get second hand? Just waiting for the third disaster!

Depending on how bad the dent(s) are- try one of the many dent master services- they may be able to remove the dent without the need for re paint (if the paint is not damaged) this applies to the chrome trim dent too-they can be a sod to remove.

About the people behind the Figaro Owners Club
MY CARMy son Daniel had always wanted a Figaro and after saving for years (plus a small contribution from his mum and dad!) he brought an Emerald Green one in May 2008. That was it - I was hooked too! Even now we spend many a happy weekend polishing her in the garage.

We just love all that chrome... After buying the car we started searching the internet for ownership help and advice and although a forum existed there was no real club so in December 2008 we started designing and building the web site which took around 4 Months. The club was formed in February 2009 and launched on 1st March 2009

Warmest Regards
