QUESTION 1 Tracking settings
| QUESTION 2 Stop/Indicator lights | QUESTION 3 New Owner Questions
| Can anyone help with the settings for the tracking on the Figaro. The fitters at Kwickfit today said they couldn't do it because they didn't have the settings on their database and, as it was Sunday, there would be no-one to contact to find out. Has anyone else had this problem and where can I find the answer!
Set it for zero (parallel) You will find more info on the links Read more

Does anybody know if the reflector part of the stop and indicator lights come off. It looks as if they should but I was not prepared to force them? If they do I could have them re-chrome painted a much cheaper option than replacement.
We looked at this on Iggy. As you say, it does look as though you might be able to prise out the actual lens part from the chromed backing. This is, however not possible as the plastic is too rigid. All you will do is snap the plastic. We tried several methods to do it and lots of patience but came to the conclusion it wasn't possible. My other half is a trained mechanic so has plenty of experience with these sorts of things too. In the end we opted for a really good used set from Figaro Bob (140 for the whole set). Not absolutely perfect but almost and a fraction of the new price. The other well known method is to use self adhesive chrome tape. If you cut the tape with a wavy pattern is disguises the edges and actually looks pretty good for a while too. Can be a bit fiddly but be patient and you can achieve a surprisingly good result for pennies. |
I am also now a new part owner of a fig! (Due to persistent nagging) it has been bought as a project and I am in need of advice. Firstly, the door locks seem a bit stiff where you pull with your finger. It makes it tricky to unlock the doors! Also the drivers window makes a noise when you press the button but nothing happens. Can someone tell me how to take the panel off to look and see if it's broken or just needs attention and also oil the lock parts inside the door please?
i have just removed the door cards on mine and its easy to do. Firstly unscrew the chrome door pin (that thing that moves up and down when you lock the door). There are 3 screws (hidden by plastic plugs) on the arm rest / handle which need removed, 1 screw in the chrome trim behind the interior door pull, round about a few cream plastic gr omits that look like Philip's screw heads that need prised out and not screwed and then you can carefully start to pop out the 3 hidden clips on the open edge of the door card. once the card is freely flapping, you then need to lift it up wards taking the black rubber strip at the window with it, make sure you pull the door card out enough to clear the interior door pull. now you should be holding it in your hands and looking at the door thinking what you will do next. as for the lock problem, I would strip and clean everything but the window issue could be many other possibilities. process of elimination I'm afraid. while your in the door, you could replace those dodgy speakers that have fallen apart over the years! they are only bout 30 and saves doing a job twice.

About the people behind the Figaro Owners Club My son Daniel had always wanted a Figaro and after saving for years (plus a small contribution from his mum and dad!) he brought an Emerald Green one in May 2008. That was it - I was hooked too! Even now we spend many a happy weekend polishing her in the garage.
We just love all that chrome... After buying the car we started searching the internet for ownership help and advice and although a forum existed there was no real club so in December 2008 we started designing and building the web site which took around 4 Months. The club was formed in February 2009 and launched on 1st March 2009.
