The Geek
was just here and now my computer is a rocket.  "Here" is just a notion; the whole process is done remotely. In about an hour the technician took charge and removed  all the bugs and other critters that were slowing me down.  I
 now can move forward efficiently.
We recommend having the Geeks do their magic to your computer occasionally to help you be more efficient and less frustrated.  Mention my name for extra special treatment.

Business or Personal

Is your business using Facebook to its best advantage?  When reviewing an assortment of pages we found that many of you are using your personal page to promote your business.  This is not the most efficient way to grow your business.  If your business isFacebook important, it deserves to have its own page. This will allow you to drive future customers directly to your business without confusion. Your personal page is just that and should be reserved for your personal life.

If you combine your pages, you will face the possibility that your customers will get more information than you want them to have about your personal life or your friends will question your motivation.  Besides, it is important to have down time away from work and this can't happen if you don't compartmentalize your life.

It is very easy to create a business page.  Look on the menu at the left of your home page.  You will see a link to your pages.  When you click on this, you will see an option to create a page.  Follow the wizard and you will be well on your way.  If you are comfortable with creating a new page, all the info you need is on the help menu, if not call a professional (like Other Creations) for help.  Consider what your time is worth vs. the investment in a consultant, this may be the more productive way to get the job done.

The new Timeline can be a very powerful tool for your business and a great way to communicate with friends and family, but they should be separate pages with separate purposes.

Your Money - Your Life

Don't Answer That

Do you remember the days before cell phones?  Cell phones seem to be everywhere these days.  They are helping us stay connected, but they are also breeding a culture of disrespect.   We have all seen instances of people dining [not] together where each person is holding their own phone conversation and ignoring the person across the table from them.

Occasionally answering the phone is not avoidable, but for the most part, we should all learn to let it ring.  If the call is important, the caller can leave a message and you can get back to them at a better time.  For those rare calls that just can't be ignored, like a parent or boss, it is possible to set distinct ring tones for those numbers. Excuse yourself, and make the call as short as possible.

Rudeness and bad manners are having a negative impact on our Society.  Cell phones are a major part of the problem. You can do your part to reduce it by being selective about when and where you answer your phone.
