MUSINGS... We are growing. We have added an Editor to our staff. This is a critical position for us and for you. One of the worst things you can do to your business is to send out information, a newsletter, or a report with major errors. Whether they are just typos or real spelling mistakes they can hurt your image. Worse yet is when you have unintentionally slaughtered the English language. Our society is moving faster than the speed of communication. This has caused us to use shortcuts in both our spoken and written words. Unfortunately, these shortcuts are leading most of us to be sloppy with our language. This is where an editor steps in. Having a third party check your work helps you avoid these mistakes. Yes, I know you probably use "spell check" but this misses a lot of mistakes. If a word is spelled correctly, but makes no sense, it is not going to be found by the checker. There was a great example (Something to Think About) in our last issue. You can read the copy, but there is nothing right about it. I doubt that this is the impression that you want to give clients and customers? Whatever your project is, for a small fee you can submit your copy to our Editor to proof-read before you publish. This will give you the peace of mind of knowing that your communication will make its best impression possible on your customers.
