MUSINGS
Charles Schultz Knew... Many years ago Charles Schultz said "Happiness is a Warm Puppy" For me happiness is a big bowl of homemade soup, my blankie, and an old movie, generally pre 1970. What makes you happy? On those dark, gray winter days what do you like to do to make yourself feel better? I have one friend who like to sit in a warm car on a bright, sunny, but blistery day, knowing that the great outdoors is cold and nasty, but that the inside of the car is warm and toasty. This venue usually requires jazz on the radio an obligation to count the birds through the sunroof. How else can we possibly know how many birds there are in the sky? When the day is bright and sunny, but you're not, what do you to make yourself feel happier? Maybe just a phone call or visit with a friend will do the trick. Or; how about a romp in the park? Another option might be to curl up with a good book or for a change of pace a long car ride to nowhere. As you can see, there is a myriad of choices that you can call on to help you feel better, most of which cost you little or nothing. All you need is a little imagination, the recognition that a little change might be the cure-all for you less than positive mood, and the motivation to get on the couch and get moving. |
