Canadian National Railroad to close Crossing at RailRoad
Grass Lake Road as part of the Illinois Route 83 Reconstruction

Canadian National Railroad has informed the Lake County Division of Transportation of their intention to close their at grade railroad crossing on Grass Lake Road (County Route A-10), immediately east of Illinois Route 83 to extend and install a new crossing as part of the Illinois Route 83 Reconstruction Project.

The closure will begin on Wednesday, July 7, 2010 at 7:00 A.M. and end on Friday, July 9, 2010 at approximately 5:00 P.M.

Local traffic will be allowed from Illinois Route 83 to the crossing and from Deep Lake Road (County Route V-67) to the railroad crossing. No vehicles will be allowed to use the railroad crossing during the three days the Canadian National Railroad is completing their crossing work. Through traffic will be detoured to Illinois Route 132, Grand Avenue by a signed detour route for the duration of the crossing installation. The signed detour route will be Illinois Route 83, to Illinois Route 132, to Deep Lake Road (County Route V-67).

Traffic reduced to one lane on inbound Eden's Expressway

Eden's Spur Road Work

~Eastbound Eden's Spur~

Lorig Construction will begin work in the eastbound direction near Skokie Boulevard beginning on Monday, June 28, 2010.

Traffic will be reduced to one lane on the Eden's Spur prior to merging with the inbound Eden's Expressway.  Scope of work includes removing the existing pavement surface. Portable Changeable Message Signs will been placed along the Spur within the Tollway right-of-way towards the eastern end of the project informing drivers of the lane reduction.

The Eden's Spur will be reduced to one lane in each direction following the 4th of July Holiday.

The noise wall construction schedule is still to be determined but we are confident the walls will be constructed after the majority of the roadway/bridge work is complete (Fall/Winter 2010)).

Information is available on the Tollway web-site, www.illinoistollway.com.
