Celebrate Halloween's ancient traditions and superstitions with stories, games, and a variety of spooktacular activities.
Participants will make a mask and learn about holiday superstiitons and traditions, such as candle leaping.

Wagon rides will take place at McDonald Woods
Costume Contest Our costume contest starts promptly at 3:30pm at the stage area. Age groups are as follows: 3-5, 6-8, and 9-11. PRIZES WILL BE AWARDED!!
Schedule of Events for Stage 3:30-4:45pm: Costume Contest 5:00-5:30pm: Paddy Lynn, Story Acting for Children 6:00-6:30pm: Jodi Koplin's JiggleJam, A Music Fest for Children 7:00-7:30pm: Magic Dave 7:45-8:15pm: Jason Kollum the Juggler
Other Activities Wagon Rides: 3:00-6:00pm Haunted Trail: 4:30-6:00pm & 6:30-8:30pm Bonfire: Starts at Dusk
Luminaries will light the way to fun and adventure along the winding, wooded path at the Haunted Trail and Bonfire! You can walk along the trail and see approximately 12 different spooky scenes for only $1 per person. Each of the scenes are run by volunteers such as the Cub/Boy Scouts, School Groups, Neighborhoods, Jaycees and the past Queens of Lindenhurst, just to name a few. Wagon Ridges through McDonald Woods are offered for only $1 or 1 canned food item for the Lake Villa Food Pantry.
Other attractions will include the Witches' Kitchen, where you can purchase many delectable treats, a Kids' Game Tent, Face Painting, Moonwalk and Pumpkins and Gourds for sale by the Millburn Tree Farm. Check out below all the fun at our Stage Area! At dusk the Lake Villa Volunteer Fire Department will start the bonfire and we will serve FREE apple cider heated in a cauldron.

Lake County Road Projects |
Route 173
Road patching is starting now on Route 173 from Route 41 to Green Bay Road and should be completed in about one week. After that, the patching contractor is moving to Route 41 from Russell Road to Route 21.
Washington Street
The $17.5 million project to reconstruct the four lane highway between Route 21 and Route 41 started last year and will be finished later this year. In September, the County will tackle the only remaining bottleneck in the corridor and begin construction to widen the segment between Hunt Club Road and Route 21 from two to four lanes. Completion: 2010. 2009 Construction Highlights:
