Greetings!
I had hoped that the necessary funds would have come in so that we would be holding large gospel crusades in Ghana this month. The need is definitely here in predominately Muslim northern Ghana. Unfortunately, enough funds did not come in. However, right now, as you read this e-newsletter, I am in Tamale in northern Ghana and need your prayers. Our African Crusade Director, Peter Atandi from Nairobi, Kenya has also flown in to meet with us in Tamale. Our purpose for coming is to meet with local pastors to let them know that Christians in America do care about Ghana, to pray over the area, and to preach the Gospel as God gives us the opportunity. Please pray for our safe travel and that God will open doors of opportunity while we are there. Also, please forward this email out to everyone you know and encourage them to give generously so that in the next few months we can go back and see a great soul harvest. You and I, we are in this army together. It is the Lord's Army and we must follow his marching orders to go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation (Mark 16.15). We can't do that unless enough like-minded Christians send us.
Next month I will send you pictures of our time here. Thank you and God bless! |
| Facebook Friendly | | Using Social Media
Most people now days socialize with their contacts through Facebook, Myspace, or other social media networks. They may even keep up with friends and associates through Twitter. These social networks are vital assets for business but are also great for spreading the Gospel and for the Church to pray timely and relevant prayers. We need a volunteer on our team who can manage our Facebook presence and handle social media marketing for Evangelism International. If you have the necessary skills, and would like to serve God through internet ministry and global evangelism, please contact us today. |
| BE PREPARED | | | Prepared In & Out of Season
A few weeks ago we were watching television one night when across the bottom of the screen came the Tornado Warning alert. That will certainly put you on edge! We live in a townhouse and had figured out several years before that if a tornado were to hit, the small bathroom under the stairs would be the safest place to be.
On this particular night our daughter, Rachel, had gone upstairs to work on homework while Renee, our dog Ginny, and I were on the sofa downstairs. All of a sudden we heard the dreaded sound (sounds like a freight train coming getting closer and closer) of a tornado on the ground just outside our home. With practiced precision, Renee jumped up and ran to the small bathroom while I ran upstairs and drug Rachel down the stairs, scooping the poodle into my arms as I hurried towards the safety of our prepared tornado safety zone.
There we huddled, praying that God spare our lives or take us as gently as possible into His kingdom. After several minutes of listening to the "freight train" sound it dawned on us that it was getting no closer nor any further away. Something just didn't seem very tornado-like. It wasn't like all the movies portrayed it to be. Slowly I ventured out of our hiding place, expecting to be sucked up and thrown miles away. As I walked towards the kitchen it began to dawn on me that the sound was actually coming from our neighbors townhouse. In fact, it was coming from where their laundry closet backs up to our kitchen wall. The realization of a washing machine off level while in the spin cycle began to drift across my frantic mind. There was no tornado, only a need to balance an errant washing machine! We were safe although embarassed.
Friends, just as my family had a plan of preparation in the event of a tornado, every family needs to have an active plan to rescue people who are lost in the storm of sin sweeping across our planet. Your family, neighbors, and friends who are un-saved could be swept into eternity at any moment. The Bible teaches us to be prepared in-season and out of season to proclaim the Gospel message of Jesus Christ. If you have friends who are un-saved, please forward this link to them and be prepared to follow up with them. It's too late to prepare after the storm has swept through. Be busy for the kingdom while there is still time to do so.
Behold, I am coming soon! My reward is with Me, and I will give to everyone according to what he has done. Revelation 22.12 |
