Judgement Day?
Q) The last f ew weeks two of my co-workers have been discussing "May 21" as "the Big Day" - they have also b een giving me brochures about being saved. I have also n oticed flyers about "May 21" and "The Day of Judgment" being posted around my community. What is t his all about?
A) May 21, 2011 is the "new" date (they have had many...) that certain Evangelical Christian denominations believe t hat Jesus is returning to earth and the final "Tribulation" will begin. Supposedly, on May 21 the "Rapture" will take place, where two hundred million "believers" in J esus, will be miraculously " swept-up" to heaven. Then, for 1 53 days, until October 21, 2 011, the rest of mankind (those "left behind," estimated by them, to be seven billion people) will be judged and the world will go t hrough various trials a nd tribulations, ultimately, culminating in the end of the world as we know i t.....
