Memo from the Dean:

Even during these challenging financial times, we have chosen hope over fear.  Each new semester brings hope and promise for our students, faculty and staff.  Our students are bright, energetic and gifted individuals and I believe they will overcome any obstacles they might encounter and soon will make a name for themselves in the world.  We strive to offer students the resources, experiences, and support they need for success as they explore their passions both in college and extracurricular activities.  Our alumni not only offer support but act as stakeholders in the success of our students and the future successes of our graduates.

Some programs that might be of interest to you or your student are listed below.  This is merely a short list of the numerous quality programs or courses we offer at the KU School of Business, check them out on our website at

Spring Semester
The Student &  Academic Services office would like to welcome your student back to campus for the spring semester!  If your student has any questions about their spring schedule, please direct them to our office in 206 Summerfield.  We would be more than happy to help!  It is also never too early for students to be thinking about their Fall 2009 schedule.  Enrollment for Fall and Summer 2009 will begin in late March.  To make an appointment to discuss scheduling, students can call 785-864-7500.  Additionally, if your student is graduating in the Spring 2009 semester, they should schedule a Graduation Check prior to March 2nd.

Business Career Services Center

Spring Programming
The Business Career Services Center (BCSC) has prepared many events and programs this spring to assist your son or daughter with their internship or full-time job search.  With the spring semester often being seniors' last chance to find full-time employment from on-campus resources, it is critical that students participate in these events and meet with our staff before graduation.  Students searching for internships can also take advantage of the companies now arriving on campus looking to fill their summer positions.

New International Dimension Requirement

New Requirement to Replace World Area of Study Requirement
Last October, School of Business faculty approved a new International Dimension Requirement (IDR). It will help ensure that all of the School's graduates have some understanding of important issues that impact business in today's highly integrated world economy.

The IDR replaces the previous World Area of Study (WAS) requirement.
