Happy Birthday Frédéric!
Dear Dog's Ear friends,
If Chopin were alive, he'd be 202-years-old today. Frédéric Chopin was born on March 1, 1810 in Zelazowa, Poland. (Try saying that three times quick). Undoubtedly, he was one of the finest romantic composers of piano music.
Personally, he's also one of my favorite composers to perform. As a matter of fact, I won 1st prizes in New York and Los Angeles Chopin Competitions. Of all the composers I could have picked, he won my heart. We feature several tracks of Chopin on the Through a Dog's Ear music series. Our gift to you on Chopin's birthday is a free download from our Calm your Canine Vol. 1. Enjoy 6:52 of his 4th Scherzo. It's slowed down and simplified with our psychoacoustic arrangement, so you and your dogs will probably be snoozing before you've heard the last note.
Right-click on this link (or control-click on a mac) and select "Save As..." or "Save Linked File As..." depending on your system. Add to iTunes or other Mp3 player as you wish. Enjoy!
And the gifts continue....TaDE Makes Billboard Classical's Top 20!
|Lisa Spector performs Chopin Scherzo E Major Op. 54|Here's an interesting musical comparison for Dog's Ear aficionados. I'm performing the E Major Scherzo as Chopin composed it. Be aware, it will probably keep you and your pups awake! This performance is at full tempo, not the slowed and simplified arrangement endemic of Through a Dog's Ear.
Two weeks after the Good Morning America feature, Music to Calm your Canine Vol. 1 reached Billboard's Classical Top 20 chart! When I was a student at Juilliard, I never could have guessed that I'd be going through the doggie door to make Billboard. Well, all I can say is, "My tail's waggin!"
And we hope all of your dogs' tails are waggin' in anticipation of spring and getting out for more walks in nicer weather! Here in Half Moon Bay, California, the first buds of spring are peeking out...
