1000 Friends Annual ConferenceSave the date!  The CTLCV Education Fund is pleased to co-sponsor the 1000 Friends of Connecticut Third Annual Smart Growth Conference on Thursday, March 18th, from 2:00 to 8:00 pm in the beautifully restored G. Fox Building on Main Street in Hartford.  

This year's conference features David Owen, author of Green Metropolis, as the dinner keynote speaker and Rick Gustafson, Founder of Portland Streetcar, Inc., as the featured afternoon speaker.  The conference will also include various workshops on current hot topics in smart growth.

January 22, 2010:  Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Roundtable Forum for Energy, Environment, Economic Development & Job Creation

The public is invited to attend the Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Roundtable Forum for Energy, Environment, Economic Development & Job Creation sponsored by the Connecticut Hydrogen-Fuel Cell Coalition (CHFCC). You are invited to join the discussion about how the Connecticut hydrogen and fuel cell industry can provide efficient and reliable generation for the global market.

Location: Goodwin College - River Campus (1 Riverside Drive, East Hartford, CT 06118)

Congressman John LarsonCongressman John B. Larson will lead the forum with presentations by Connecticut's hydrogen and fuel cell industry and panel discussion with Connecticut legislators, agency representatives and other executives. The forum will focus on Connecticut's hydrogen and fuel cell industry, energy management, environmental protection, job creation, and economic development.

The 2010 legislative session begins on Wednesday, February 3. 
 
CT Legislative Office BuildingCTLCV will be at the LOB throughout the session to monitor this year's environmental initiatives--and to derail any attempts to roll back Connecticut's environmental laws and programs.  Once the session gets underway, check our watchlist at www.ctlcv.org/watchlist.htm for important developments.
