Apply by April 28 for National Clean Diesel Funding Assistance Program
The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (ARRA) allocates $8.79 million in federal stimulus money to be awarded in the northeast through competitive grants for projects that will reduce the amount of harmful emissions from diesel engines.  EPA Region 1 will award approximately 8 to 10 grants, each between $500,000 and $2,000,000, under the National Clean Diesel Funding Assistance Program and ARRA.

Proposed projects, which must range in value between $500,000 and $2,000,000, must achieve significant reductions in diesel emissions in terms of tons of pollution produced and diesel emissions exposure, particularly from fleets operating in areas designated as poor air quality areas, and the proposed projects must demonstrate the ability to maximize job preservation and creation.

For technical assistance, you may contact Silvia Piņeiro of the DEP at Silvia.Pineiro@ct.gov. Please note that due to limited resources, DEP is unable to actually prepare applications for other organizations. For eligibility info, the application and other details, go to EPA Region 1 at http://epa.gov/otaq/eparecovery/prognational.htm#rfa.
