1. Is the workshop open to all dancers, or is it a Bharata Natyam Workshop?
Yes, the workshop is open to ALL dancers of different dance genres/styles who have an interest in learning new techniques and polishing their abhinaya (expressional) skills; it is NOT style specific. Priyaji is known for her captivating abhinaya and since the age of 9 has studied with Padma Bushan Smt. Kalanidhi Narayan who is one of the most revered abhinaya exponents in modern history, as a matter of fact- her name is synonomous with Abhinaya-also known as the art of visual representation. We hope to capture a glimpse into Priyaji's years of dedicated training and performance experience!
Note: The purpose of these master workshops is to increase our exposure and learning experiences with great masters whom we rarely have an opportunity to study with or see perform on a regular basis. We hope everyone will take the opportunity to learn, absorb, transform and have fun!
2. How long is the workshop, I see 3 dates?
The workshop is a 3 day mini intensive starting on Wednesday, November 2 and ends on Friday, November 4. 3. What will I learn? Participants will learn a full abhinaya (expressional) dance composition. 4. Is space still available, can you save a space for me? Sorry, we cannot save a space. Luckily, there is currently 5 spaces left for the full 3 day workshop, 4 spaces left to attend per day..HURRY!
3. What if I can only come 1 day, what will be the cost, I don't see an option for per day attendance?
YES- you can! We were not registering individuals for per day attendance (space is limited) prior to today. The cost per day $75 + a one time $10 registration fee (to be paid @ the door).
